Alcatel One Touch Fierce won't turn on?

I had been using my phone all day long and i was on my way home and the phone battery was at 1%. It ended up dying so when i got home i tried charging it but it won't turn on? i already tried Power + up & down volume and the boot settings come on so i know the screen isn't dead. Any suggestions?

You can't have had it charging very long. The first few hours puts very little charge into the battery (it's called the ramp-up period). Leave it charging for 24 hours, then see what happens.

In the future, try to charge it when it's down to 50% - that gives you the longest life.

Also i forgot to mention this is the first time the phone has completely died i do't know if that has to do anything with the issue?
