Best Buy - credit for porting your number?

Okay, I thought I read this somewhere but cannot find it now, it could have been a dream too. But I thought I read that if you did the pre-order on the Incredible with Best Buy, and then ported your number to Verizon when you picked it up, you would get $50 off the cost of the phone that day. Since I cannot find this, it is starting to look like the SMART30 promo code on VZW's site would be better since you get $30 off the price.

Can anybody confirm/deny this?

When I called BB told me that they would not honor the $30 discount.

I am not NE2 so I can't touch on the $50.

It wasn't for NE2, but for actually porting your number from another carrier to Verizon. I'm losing hope and thinking I might just order from VZW directly and cancel my pre-order. But I wonder if I would get a refund since it is technically a gift card that was paid for.

Oh! Well I didn't know about that. But I had to get a new area code so it doesn't really matter.

As for the gift card - they folks at BB told me you can't return it. But I have heard in other threads where people just go straight to customer service and some agents don't know better and will refund you.

The back of the receipt reads:

"Non-returnable items:
Pre-paid cards such as music, photo, video, or phone cards"

But it doesn't include the word 'Gift'. Hard call need a lawyer in here.

Yeah, I was just looking at the back of the card. It's not like I would have any trouble finding something to use the gift card on on the store

If not, I'll just tell them that I got de-invited from my friends birthday party. Maybe they'll feel sorry for me.
