I'd noticed that when playing that helicopter sample video with Adam and Cf-auto root the playback would appear choppy (no pun intended, ok it was) and would pause every 5 to 10 seconds so I went hunting. I didn't really look too far as this was the next one I tried and I have to say I'm impressed. Due to a problem with 3minit where I'd had it set up to turn the torch on by long pressing home when on the lockscreen my flashlight was on whenever I took my phone out of my pocket. I would've expected my battery to take a much bigger hit than it did because of this but it held out nicely. Everything seems nice and smooth and video playback and online streaming works flawlessly. There's also more options to tweak than you can shake a stick at, all customizable using the KTweaker app which gets installed when you flash. Maybe a little too many for me until I've done a bit of reading so I've basically got it set up with the devs settings that he posted in his thread.

There have been three updates to the kernel. I only flashed the latest about an hour ago so it's too early to really say but it seems as smooth and as stable as the others. It was the first time I used the kernels built in ota checker to check for and install an update. This found and downloaded the kernel with no problem but the flash aborted after booting into recovery mode. I have no idea why though as the phone rebooted before I had time to read what it said. A boot straight back into recovery and a manual flash had no such problems. If this version turns out to be as stable and with as good battery life as the rest you won't be getting any complaints from me. The only two things I could fault the previous versions on is that I had a couple of random reboots when undervolting by 100 but then that's my bad as I think the kernels already undervolted. Going to a uv of 50 solved those problems, I may have to try 75 though and see if there's any issues. The other thing is that when listening to music through my bluetooth headphones there would be an occasional stutter. This was caused by the screen off profile so should now be fixed as the latest kernel an option to keep the media mhz separate from the screen off.

Change Log 8.20.2013
1. Update Ramdisk for CM compatibility
2. Linux 3.4.58
3. Linux 3.4.59
4. Added Mhz minimum setting while playing media for people having trouble playing music while screen is off (Option is in Extras Screen)
5. Using official exFat from Samsung source
6. A bunch of re-cleanup on TW version
7. Merged in 4 commits from CM from today 8/15
8. Added abyssplugv2 governor from abyss kernel
9. Merged in all CM updates from last 3 days
10. Linux 3.4.57
11. KTweaker: Added option to re-download when you have the current version when manually checking for update
12. Ramdisk updates

Change Log 8.9.2013
1. KTweaker: Added option to view change log in "Extras->OTA Control" screen
2. KTweaker: Fix issue with external sdcard selection in OTA
3. KTweaker: Couple other clean up things

Change Log 8.7.2013

1. ASoC: msm: FENS Support for VOIP calls
2. video: msm: Increase video encoding output buffer size
3. msm: display: command mode panel release fence

The KT tweaks app seems very limited though. Use Voltage Control app from google play and everything is unlocked. You can overclock above what KT allows. At your peril ofc. :)

Wait just read shottys last post. 2322 is highest overclock.

EDIT: Just had my first shutdown. Even on the Kernal devs own govenor. Set to 2032 and whilst playing Real racing phone shutdown.

ktoonsez kernels for 4.2.2, 4.3, 4.4.*, for Touchwiz, AOSP and Google Edition, ROMs, updated! :)

"Change Log 01.13.2014
1. ktoonservativeq: Added new tunable called super_conservative. When enabled (enter a 1) this will dramitacally reduce the bouncing effect from Min Mhz and the amount of hotplugging. Performance may take a hit for the really picky user but 95% of the people that have been testing say its not enough to bother them.
2. Linux 3.4.76
3. Fix for TW 4.3 slow motion recording (thanks @elesbb for testing for me ).
4. Tweaked disable hotplugging while music/video is playing option.
5. Updated my setting in Post 3 so go check it out.
6. Added pac framework compatibility to AOSP 4.4
7. KTweaker 5.1 for all versions.

Which one for Echoe

If I was truly sarcastic, Syd, I would ask which Echoe ROM are you referring to as they have JB, 4.2.2, also JB, 4.3. Not to mention KitKat, GE and KitKat stock.

However, unless you have been a busy little sloth overnight and changed your ROM... you are on Echoe KitKat, v2.2, Google Edition. In which case you will need to flash... the Google Edition version. ;)

ironass, sarcasm, surely no, the 2 never go together.

cheers, just a little unsure as friedrich described it as an AOSP type rom. so maybe a stupid question, but certainly not my most stupid to date!!!
