Doesn't SHUT DOWN.

Anyone else having this issue?

ON A few occassions now when I go to shut down my phone it stalls in the shutting down mode.

I have to take the battery out to shut down.

Happening far too regularly.

I have had "advanced Task Killer" installed.

I uninstalled it after the latest shut down problem to see if that is the issue.

Task killers are unnecessary at best, screws up your phone at worst. Don't use them unless you really must imo, better use Startup Auditor.

My phone would not shut down the 1st time I tried. It had been on for 4/5 days.
I had to pull the battery!

But now it shuts down within 30/60 secs

BTW I use TaskKiller

I had this problem today, had to pull the battery. However, it happened after the phone started to sieze up, which was the reason I was turning off.

It's either the Bluetooth or radio app.

I have both killed, and shut down within 15-20 secs. Unkilled, the phone takes ages.

Hmm, neither for me. I pulled the battery once. Another time I left it. It was more than 2 mins. I sort of gave up and did something else, and when i came back it was off (it wsa powering down because of low battery). No idea if it powered down properly or ran out of power shutting down. I'd imagine that they phones are designed to power down when there's actually still a fair amount of juice, just so that it can unmount the card, close/purge files etc. Better to waste a few mins power than to corrupt data.

That's just it - how many people left it as long as 5 mins before pulling the battery? What takes 5 mins to do on a 1ghz cpu anyway? It's some crappy hardware/driver problem no doubt, just like it is on Windows (although my Ubuntu box never has a problem shutting down)

well I have had it shutting down for 10 minutes and finally got fed up.

I agree it is usually when some other app is running in background but it is not always FM radio and I don't use bluetooth.

The first time it happened i was just browsing through photos i had taken. The most recent time I had "music" app running - the reason for shutting down being music app was missing abuot 2,000 songs and my playlists were gone....

These are started automatically by the phone upon boot.

Infact, there's very little of the "from the factory" stuff that it doesnt!

I have the exact same problem and for me it was Advanced Task Killer!

After uninstalling it, and using the phone for a few days and attempting a shutdown, it would do so very quickly!!
