What did the bird say when it flew into Wal-Mart looking for a T-Mobile G1? Cheap, cheap, cheap! Rumor has it that starting on November 24th, Wal-Mart will be offering the T-Mobile G1 for over $30 dollars off the price you’ll find at T-Mobile stores. That’s right… $179.99 at Magenta and $148.88 at Wallies… for [...]

I better have mine before that date!! :(

So, here is the question. I plan to purchase my wife her G1 after November 11th because she will qaulify for the full discount. However, if Wally is going to offer this phone for 30.00 less, then is that going to only be for new customers? I am curious to know if existing customers will be able to purchase the phone for this price???

My niece works at Wallmart and thats what she said they always do with Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile phones. They either charge full price for you just to buy it or a discount if you start an account.

The engadget article states that it is the upgrade price...

"Yep -- according to company spokeswoman Melissa O'Brien, the new / upgrade-eligible customer price for a Walmart-sourced G1 will be just $148.88 with a 2-year agreement."

So on my lunch break today I went to Wal-mart to look around to see if they had G1's on the shelf. Nope, none anywhere. So then I decided to call Tmo Customer Service and spoke to a nice gal. I had to give her the phandroid.com website to look at the information- she was just as dumb founded as the rest of us and had not a clue! She said that information would become the new rumor floating around the call center..all the buzz.
