My trackball is going nuts. It skipping around mainly to the bottom of whatever im doing. It's getting very annoying. Any suggestions? Should I use my insurance for somethibg like this.

In my experience it's not very precise to begin with.

However, if yours is in fact defective, then it's a warranty issue, not insurance.

Just take it in to Verizon. Wont cost you a penny if they fix it or replace the phone.

It might be a warranty issue and I wouldn't try to delve too far into trying to fix it. This is a very common, common problem with trackballs. The technology is antiquated and they are prone to failure. This is why trackpads are replacing this old technology. They get gunked up, lose sensitivity and generally go whacky. Ask any BB owner. Why HTC felt this was a passable technology for modern smartphones is beyond me. Other than popping your trackball out and cleaning the leads, I'd just warranty it out.

maybe that was my problem too.......

haha. so russell, you just caled them and they decided to send you one? you didnt have to reproduce the issue in the store? if so can you PM me with which customer service number you called? i called earlier today to bitch about the trackball and sense crashing but they sai that i would have to take in in, have them wipe it, and then i would have to reproduce the problem again while i was there before i get a replacement. too much work for one, and i dont know if i would be able to reproduce it on demand as it happens randomly.

I called 611. Just be very polite. I work in a call center and know the nicer you are, the more they will do for you. Getting an attitude with me I will only do the bare minimum to help you. Just talk to them like it wasn't their fault, bc it wasn't.
