Installing the Google Now Launcher

I've seen a few posts asking why certain N5 features don't work on the N4 after the 4.4 KitKat update.

For a lot of stuff to work, you need to install Google Search 3.1 & The Google Experience Launcher:

I've just followed the video through, but I cant get the 'OK google' part to work. When he mentioned about installing the language pack, I already had the UK one on my device. I've uninstalled it & re-installed, but still no luck.

Any suggestions please?

Is English UK selected as the default language?

I know previous iterations have had issues with strong accents, but I imagine a phrase like "OK Google" should be simple enough to understand.

GEL is definitely the default launcher too? Is Google Now active/turned on?

It is indeed a problem with UK english. US english has to be selected as the default language for the 'OK Google' to work

Has anyone else run into this?

GEL likes to pull up my folders in a super-transparent mode sometimes. Closing the folder and reopening it fixes it, but I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed it.

I haven't but the latest update to the launcher causes 3rd party wallpapers to shift in size back and forth every time I open the app drawer, switch screens, and open folders
