Transfer contacts from Dare to Eris

Wife has a Dare, bought her an Eris, and dont know how to transfer contacts.

She doesn't use gmail/outlook or anything.

Tried to download the backup assistant but still couldnt find the contacts online.

Whats the best way to transfer contacts from the dare to eris without having to go to the store?

is there a way to save contacts to the SD card? if so do that and then put that SD card into the eris.
or upgrade to the 2.1 and bluetooth it over.

But for real, I think Verizon told me they can personally do it themselves at a store? I don't know for sure but a visit would never hurt.

I was quite disappointed that backup assistant was not available for the Eris like it is with the Palm pre plus. But I quickly got over that when I found out how convenient Google is with automatically backing up contacts

Google up some lg tools. Lg download and or bitpim might get you a csv you could import to google.

you could go to her gmail account and add contacts ... i think it would be easier to type them on the computer and then just sync them than to type them all on the phone.

How do I do this?

She never had gmail before. I just set up a gmail account now for her.

So now what? How do I get the dare to sync with gmail?

If you just take it into verizon they will do it for you. problem solved.

or you can backup the contact through your vzw.com account, create an .csv and import it to the eris. but its much easier to just take it to verizon.

OK, figured it out.

First, I downloaded Backup Asst to the Dare and uploaded my contacts.

Then, thanks to this poster who laid it out:

Do this:

• 1. Log into My Verizon at verizonwireless.com
• 2. Click the “My Services” tab.
• 3. Click “My Contacts” under “My Cell Phone”
• 4. Click “Export to CSV”
• 5. Save it to your harddrive. It will say something like “contacts_10109923595402.csv”
• 6. Open Gmail
• 7. Click “contacts”
• 8. Click “import”
• 9. Browse to the csv file you downloaded from Verizon in step 5
• You are done. You should now see all of your Verizon contacts

Did that, and now all the contacts are on the Eris.

Pretty painless.
