The new Skyfire 2.0 browser is out on the market. However there seems to be an issue with it and some themes (at least on CM 5.0.6.2 themes)... It is confirmed to work on just plain CM 5.0.6.2 but will FC on launch with themed versions.

Just giving everyone an FYI. I made a post over in the Droid Theme section of the CM forums to see if we can get the issue fixed and will let you all know if it is, the browser looks really slick and I can't wait to actually use it :p

What do you guys think of the speed. I've been using XScope for a while now, and it's the fastest browser I've used.

I love xScope but I don't like the way the pinch zoom works. The pages won't load at full screen (only at a preset zoom level) and if you zoom out you can actually make the web page smaller than the screen.

With the 2.1 stock browser being almost as smooth I just went back to that. If xscope made their zoom the same as the stock it would be perfect.

To answer your question - I'm pretty sure the browser itself is using the stock browser to render the pages. The pinch zoom sucks though. I don't plan to use Skyfire for anything but flash videos.

ESPN and NBA.com also work :D

Do you think there is any way (on any browser) to get the gameday type stuff loading? On ESPN, skyfire opens up a new little popup but it's just black, and on MLB.com (which has no gameday popup but just loads it on the site), it's pretty much just a huge blank white section ... do you think the official release of flash will do the trick?

Skyfire just does flash video, not interactive apps like gamecast.

We'll need flash 10.1 for that.
