I got my incredible yesterday morning and have been playing with it almost non stop. I have had no rebooting problems at all. It seems like a few were defective?
So is the phone kick ass or what? Im on Sprint with the Hero, I am having a hard time waiting for the EVO 4G. Is the Incredible holding up to all the hype? Is it the best phone you ever had so far?

Just my 2 cents...I'd wait. I have the Incredible and LOVE it. But you'll get the same thing in the Evo plus some features. Network differences aside I wouldn't start a new contract with Verizon just to get what you could have in June on Sprint. My wife has banned us from Sprint lol so I left T-Mo for the Incredible.

I would definitely wait. Better phone, cheaper plans.

This is incorrect.

The Incredible is a fantastic phone - super fast and I have great battery life so far. 3 bars at 20 hours later with pretty heavy use and poor signal area - It is also my FIRST charge cycle!!

On top of having the best network in America - you can't go wrong..

4g will NOT be available for cell phones until 2011. By going with Sprint (terrible service) you would be getting an enhanced 3g. It's called WiMax - look it up.

Sprint is actually scamming everyone by claiming it is 4g.

4g is LTE and Verizon and ATT will be there first since Sprint took a shady shortcut.

WiMax and 4g will also drain the hell out of the battery and will be more expensive.

EVO is also a bigger phone, thicker and wider. I prefer mine smaller.

Overall I've had an AMAZING experience with my Incredible and I've never been happier to spend $199.

I have had 0 problems. Phone stays cool, no restarts, battery life has been great, signal is rockin, phone and display is gorgeous..

Oh and Verizon is more expensive - YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET! Do you want the best coverage in the US?

I've had my phone for roughly 30 hours now. It "slept" for 6 hours while i did. It came fully charged.

The battery is going strong at 80% after being plugged in while navigating for ~1.5 hrs.

I have been almost constantly using it for webbrowsing, maps, snapping pictures(over 75 pics) and just showing it off to interested folk at work.

The apps/services i'm running are:

Push Gmail(integrated account)
Flickr integration for photo uploading
auto-brightness and 3g are on
GPS/Wifi/Bluetooth are off unless needed.

I'm not using a taskkiller.

So far i'm really really impressed. I put it through its paces with nary a slowdown let alone a reboot.

Battery is holding up admirably considering how much use i'm throwing at it.

So no, i'm not returning it. You can pry it from my cold dead fingers thank you very much :D

I said cheaper plans, better phone. I won't debate your wimax/4g, LTE statements because I really don't have a clue about the details. I purely state my opinions for the OP because after all that's what they are looking for.

I live in S. Fl and have had ATT, Sprint and now Verizon. Verizon is the worse for me, in my area, ATT second and Sprint by far the best. You can't beat their 69.99 plan even if they added $20 to cover 4g/wimax costs it is still better than VZW 450 plan. I also prefer the looks and size of the Evo. Imo, like the droid, the incredible is too skinny. I guess I'm used to the wider phones like my old curve and tour.

For me the size or the Evo was a deciding factor, as I really have no interest in going any bigger than the iPhone. For all the tech junkies out there who need every feature known to man as well as a giant brick in your pcket at all times, well there's the Evo. For me, the incredible suits my needs just fine and it's svelt enough not to notice it in my pocket when I'm walking around.

With any new device there are going to be some units that get released that are defective just take it back and get another one. I'm having no problems with mine, and I know 3 other people who got theres yesterday and they aren't having any problems either. So I say just exchange it if you're having problems it's a common occurance with new phones

I have Verizon and Sprint in Denver and I'd say they are very even in performance (granted I dont' know about Sprints 3g as my Curve isn't 3g) If I didn't have the amazing deal I do with Verizion I would switch all my phones to Sprint also if they had better phones. Sprint is a very good service I say a very close 2nd to Verizon overall but the price for Sprint is much less then Verizon for current rates.
And I know some places where even Tmobile & ATT work better then Verizon so if you live or work in a place where one service doesn't work right then it's the wrong service for you.

I had T-Mobile in Denver and it is only good if you are in a city.. Go out into the country and you will wish you had Verizon.

I also live in wisconsin. My parents have ATT, I had Tmobile. Neither of us got good reception in the house and 0 reception in basement (next to lake michigan)

Now I switched to verizon and I can make perfect calls in my basement and perfect reception in the rest of the house.

From my experience in these two states, verizon has pwned.

Just an opinion not saying im totally right.

I've never had Tmobile but know a lot with it and have problems in the suburbs and mountains . Verizon and Sprint work fantastic. I have had AT&T at a previous job and it was pathetic, I had to start forwarding my work calls to my personal verizon phone so I could actually get calls and not drop the calls I did recieve lol
