Help Navigation volume

I generally have Pandora or other audio from my phone streaming over my car audio system when driving. For some reason if I have navigation running at the same time the navigation voice is twice as loud as the music.

It means I either have to turn the music down ridiculously low or the nav voice will come on and hurt my ears. If I turn the volume down on the phone to reduce the nav voice then the music goes down at the same time.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so did you find any solution?

I always found volume controls to be one of the most confusing aspects of Android until I found ... Volume Control + Pro (there is also a free version). I have used it for years.

The display shown below is extremely useful in seeing what is going on.

You could give it a try and see if it points you in the right direction.

No, there doesn't appear to be a solution that I have seen. Maps Navigation uses the same volume as other media apps like Pandora (media volume for non-BT, and Bluetooth volume when connected by BT) and, for some reason, the voice prompts are louder for some people when using Pandora. I have a Kenwood BT deck in my car and my volumes are fine (I don't use Pandora much, but each time I've navigated while playing media in another app, the navigation prompts were not over-loud), but I've read others that have had that same problem.

Somebody posted a link to an app that is supposed to allow individual volumes per app, but there was never feedback if that worked.

Just to ask, what happens if, when you are listening to Pandora on the car BT, you press the volume up key on the phone (with the display on, so you can press "OK" when it warns you about turning the volume up too loud) to crank the volume on the phone. Was the volume already at the highest level? Obviously you may need to turn down the volume on the car unit it it wasn't. If this wasn't cranked before, does this do anything to equalize navigation volume, or is it still too high?

I have tried the volume at 100% after hitting the OK button, at 75% and at 50%. All have the same problem, the nav volume is always what seems to be about 50% higher than the other media volumes.

FWIW, there is a new update to Google Maps that now exposes a setting to change the volume of directions to softer, normal, or louder.
