ALWAYS MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING A ROM

NEW - Happy Bean Version! What is it?

It's the same ROM with all of the simplicity and the improvements, just with that old blue that some people seem to miss. All the Kit Kat icons and UI changes are included, just with the blue.

For some reason, Jellybean's statusbar icons are kind of sad and desaturated. So I made the icons Happier, making the ROM's version "Happy Jellybean."

Changelog
To update, just flash the zip file in CWM. DON'T wipe cache and dalvik cache. To move to this ROM from another ROM, format the system from CWM then flash.

Version 2.1
  • Fixed the displayed version number when flashing in CWM
  • SU file updated to version 3.1.1. No more Superuser problems!
  • Xposed removed. It had too many problems as a system app. Download it here and install it as a regular app.
  • Sprint Permissions added back in. This should fix a ton of Sprint/Virgin Mobile Issues, including MSL stuff.
  • Working voicemail app added back in (otherwise voicemail settings in the phone app would force close).
  • GPS icons fixed

Version 2.0
  • Small bug fixes
  • Changed text location selector thingy back to blue (like in Kit Kat)
  • All app icons are Kit Kat themed, even the ones you don't see unless you go under settings
  • More small UI changes
  • Happy Bean version released! Have all the UI changes of Kit Kat with the old Jellybean blue for the statusbar icons and for selecting things!

Version 1.2

  • Overflow menu is always enabled. If you don't like this, you can download Gravitybox and disable it. (note: menu key is not remapped)
  • Icons around the system changed to match KitKat better. the icons that were changed include the settings button in the statusbar, the icons in the power widget, the adb statusbar icon, and the phone icon under Settings>Mobile networks.
  • Build.prop edits to make the phone faster and to save battery.
  • Changed default wallpaper to orange/red KitKat wallaper
  • Other small stuff

Version 1.1
  • Xposed installer is automatically included (to help spread the word). If you have Xposed already installed, uninstall before updating.
  • The new boot.img from B09 is included. I had the B06 version instead apparently. This should fix a lot of problems.
  • Changed default wallpaper to blue KitKat wallpaper
  • Removed Voice Dialer (Google Now does everything better than it can do.)
  • Some KitKit UI changes for the default launcher
  • Included Google boot logo (Thanks to Mobstergunz)
  • Other very small things

What is Origin?

Origin is a new ROM for the Vital/Supreme based off of the stock B09 update.

Features

  • Everything works.
  • Overflow menu icon is always on
  • True and complete KitKat theme is included. The CORRECT KitKat color is around #DADADA, not #FFFFFF.
  • The Google Experience Launcher is working! Update the Google Search app with the play store to get this to work! Don't like it? The default launcher is still included!
  • SD cards are swapped! This makes a lot more room for apps!
  • The ROM is debloated, most apps that you can find on the market are taken out unless somewhat necessary. Also, Sprint and ZTE Bloatware is gone.
  • All B09 fixes are included. This includes the ability to turn off and on the camera shutter sound, video apps that didn't work before will work, and stability is not an issue.
  • The new KitKat calendar, email, calculator, and settings apps are included.
  • All app icons are KitKat themed.
  • ZTE alarm and timer apps are replaced with the much better Timely app, which was recently bought by Google.
  • The stock Android browser is included instead of Chrome. Chrome can still be downloaded on the Play Store.
  • No boot sound
  • More stuff that I can't think of right now is in there... yeah.

What I'm Working On

  • KitKat Gallery
  • KitKat Dialer
  • Having the Google Keyboard already installed (you can download it off the google play store until then).
  • Removing Am/Pm
  • Anything else? Let me know

Notes
In case you didn't see it above, you need to update the google search app to get the experience launcher to work. That's it. Just press home. Everything that needs to be there is there.

Want the KitKat Gallery? Rename the stock Gallery2.apk under system/app to Gallery2.apk.bak. Then get the KitKat gallery from here and sideload it as a normal app (not a system app). Thanks stevestone!

What to use hangouts for sms/mms? Go to hangouts>Settings>mms>Access point names and then use the settings found here.

Let me know what I can add, I want to make this as cool as possible! Comment how you like the ROM and add what you think could be better. Post links and stuff too! :)

Also, want the transparent statusbar for the launcher? Download Gravitybox from the Xposed app after installing the framework. There is a statusbar and navigation bar transparency option inside the app for the homescreen and lockscreen.

Also, thank you SuperR for making the update in a flashable form! You're awesome!

What do you think? Let me know!

Phone overheated while in my pocket and it wiped the data partition on its own. Its either the warmer weather, the Cpu settings, or its just the phone itself. :(

ps. Beautiful Rom

Thanks! Apparently I had the B06 boot.img included possibly? I made sure it was the B09 one this time. This should fix your problems, unless it's your phone that's causing problems.

Also, thanks for the google boot logo! I tried using other ones... but the google boot logo doesn't lag and it's just simple. Perfect.

I really like this rom, I love the swapped sdcards, although now I'm scared to wipe anything lol
I love the white icons at the top, and of course Timely!!

I'm mostly scared of the repercussions of swapping the storage, if any.

If you take the SD card, nothing bad will happen. The phone will just sense that external storage is out and you just won't be able to use the apps on your SD card. Just put the SD card back in a reboot your phone if you ever take it out. The apps will still be there

If you want to swap SD card, move the apps to the phone and then put the new SD card in. If you don't have enough room, use titanium backup

I for some reason can't download v1.1. Gets 2 seconds from finishing and then says there is a network error. Is anyoneelse having issues installing downloadingwidgets on the original version?

Sorry about the downloading issue. I'm putting up different mirrors for the next version.

Not sure about the widget thing. Widgets and stuff seem to be working fine for me.

Also, question for everyone who is using this rom. How does everyone feel about having the overflow menu button always on for the next version? (The three dot menu button on apps). Kit Kat has it always enabled by default. If I do it, should I remap the menu key to something more useful like showing recent apps?

Only problem I have had is if you are using the Google Launcher. The app must be installed to phone. Any app that was on my home sreen and installed to SD card would disappear from the home screen on reboot. If you are having problems with widgets move the app to phone storage and it will work. This is only on the Google Launcher, not sure about other launchers.

I do like the idea of the overflow menu even if the real menu key wasn't remapped.
By the way this ROM rocks! Nice Work!

Huh, weird. I actually had the same problem before and I didn't know what caused it. Thanks! Hopefully Google comes out with a fix soon.

Love the ROM, my Supreme is fast! I would like to have the Visual Voice Mail back, if possible.
My phone, even with the SD cards switched now, still runs out of storage space when trying to download and install updates. It has always been like that and I was hoping that the card swap would fix it. Any thoughts?

The visual voicemail apk that you would need is in the stock deodexed ROM under system/app. Just grab the apk and install it from your phone. The deodexed rom is here. Otherwise, try here.

I feel your pain about the storage space. It annoys me to no end why android does this. I usually move just about everything to the sd card and I'm still running low on space. It's the best I can do in my power.
