Wussup Forum?

I'm Jamie Kever and I've been using the iPhone since September of 08.

Forum: hello Jamie.

Hello. I got irritated recently when my jailbroken factory unlocked iPhone started bugging out. I did a factory reset and played with it for a few days. It was fine. I pwned it and it starts bugging out again... even preventing an incoming phone call!

A bye bye. But I'll still use it as a Skype phone when I travel. (That is nice.)

So I had my eye on this white hero. (And I liked HTC's phone model by the same name too.)

So I got it in the mail and its got a ROM for SE Asia or something. It doesn't have Google's market place, just something called SlideMe that has a spitty selection. So I'm trying to figure out how to do all this stuff (root, flash and mod) and I'm really surprised at how difficult it is to find some simple tutorial sites.

Maybe because everything changes so quickly? I dunno.

So I'm here to try and figure out how to get the Google market place on my phone. I got a thread going here if you feel like helping. <-shameless plug

So here I am.

Once I figure this stuff out, I may just put together the kind of noob site I'm looking for.

I am very interested in knowing about Skype and Google Voice on this phone. I have GV and I've heard it interfaces with Android well. I can only use it now in the browser though. It is rather useless to me without Skype to get the call on my cell. I am reading about other options like Gizmo5 which may work.

So those are my interests. I hope to learn a lot here.

Jamie is your name? My mother gave me an identity crisis calling me Jamie but putting James on my birth certificate. I get asked a lot, why do you go by Jamie and not James. Although the question is a bit offensive, I tell them that is what my family calls me, and the name I identify with most.

I was able to put the customized ROM on my phone. But it's laggier then the one it came with, and that's annoying. I still need to figure out how to receive VOIP calls through wi-fi, but that's a project I'll take up after this term paper that's due today. Sadly, I'm not even certain what this paper has to be about. Uugh.
