So I've looked for this answer everywhere but can't find it. Since the last it update to V7 safer out etc. doesn't work due to a patched kernel. Is there no other way to root this phone now or am I just stupid? I can't go back to V6 because I was having major connectivity issues with missing calls and texts since before updating. That plus the annoying system update notification every 15 mins killed my battery.

Thanks

** Finally found a solution, if you want to add it here its Called Towelroot by geohot, located at towelroot.com. Worked like a charm for V7 of the OTA!!

I've tried the app. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. When I click root it flashes "rooting" for 1 second and does nothing. I've got the optimus f3 with 4.1.2 and kernel 3.4.0. Any suggestions please? Would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Towelroot will work. Be sure to follow the instructions. Should install app then when open start 'make it rain'

Takes just a second. Next install SU (superuser) and busybox from play store. Also download a root checker just to confirm
