What happened to 32GB Maxx?

I just upgraded from my razr maxx to the HTC one m8. I miss having 80% battery life left at the end of the day. That was when I first got it, but it was still great until the last couple months before upgrade time.
I still have a week left to exchange if I want. If the 32gb was still available I would have got that instead. I'm already at 11gb used on internal and 6gb on my sd card.
Is the battery life as good on the new maxx like it was on the old? I don't know if 16 gb will work for me. But it Is tempting.

Verizon definitely pulled the Ultra and the 32 GB Maxx and replaced with two colors of a 16 GB Maxx. However, as far as I know, stock was not pulled from stores, so while online sales are the 16 GB version only, stores may still have 32 GB Maxxes in stock. Also, Amazon is still selling the 32 GB. Amazon.com: Motorola DROID MAXX, Black 32GB (Verizon Wireless): Cell Phones & Accessories

I never had the Razr Maxx, but battery life on the Droid Maxx is indeed great. No matter how bad the signal, I have never gone through a day and had to worry about charging the phone. Once every three months or so I run the phone until the battery is done and the shortest the phone has gone is 36 hours, and that was when I playing music over BT for about six hours.

I just got a 32GB Maxx from Amazon for $49 (compared to the Verizon offer of 16GB for $99). It has plenty of storage for me, and the battery is just as good as advertised. The screen is gorgeous and the device is very speedy. (My previous device was the Droid Bionic.)

I also considered the Moto X, M8, and S5, but battery life is more important to me than the latest specs. The Maxx is a great looking device (can't believe how thin it is). Some people say it is heavy, but I had an extended battery on my old phone so this is not a big deal.

The active notifications, touchless control, and camera launch gesture are three things that I don't think I will ever be able to live without on future devices!

Go for it!

My wife just did the big NO-NO! She dropped my Maxx as she got out of the truck today. It hit the road. At first I was upset because the Kevlar on the bottom left of the phone had a smudge/scrape. Then I turned on the screen and my screen is cracked from the bottom right to about the middle of the screen. It is the under layers of the glass that's cracked and the screen is fully functional but to say I was angry is an understatement.

The reason I'm posting this here is will Asurion have 32GB Maxx's to replace this one with? I haven't called them yet because the crack is not untolerable but one mild jar or bump too hard and I'm certain that this screen will go all the way through.

Thoughts?

On the other hand, as often and as talented as you are at your desktop designs. ... you could incorporate the crack in your fancy designs. Lol (sorry about the damage).

Why do you think Verizon quit selling a 32gb and stuck with the 16gb Maxx? I have until Tuesday to return my HTC One m8. I'm still on the fence on returning it and ordering the 32 GB from Amazon. I like the m8 but I sure miss the battery life of the max and the camera on the m8 isn't that great either, plus the max has been out for a year and the m8 was just released with the newer software. I'm half tempted to wait to see if they come out with a new max this year, buy it and sell the m8 to recoup some money. Sorry for the rambling I just have a hard time making decisions sometimes. Thanks for all the helpful comments though.

This is just a guess, but Verizon knows how many of each device they sell, and I'm sure that they've reached a point with the ultra and Maxx that it was better to sell one unit with a large battery and 16 GB at a low price than two units, one with 16 GB and a small battery and one with 32gb and a large battery, with the 32 GB unit at too high a price. The devices are 10 months old now, there will probably be a refresh in two or three months, so it's on the late end of the sales curve, and anybody buying now is definitely not buying for cutting edge specs, so they're fine with 16 GB - they just want it cheap.

Of course that's not everybody, but people looking for cutting edge right now are not going to buy a Maxx at any storage level.
