Help WiFi Widgets - do yours work?

Has anyone else had any issues with any of the wifi widgets? I've tried several of them including the stock one that was on the third screen and the power widget bar. It successfully turns wifi off. However, I have yet to be able to turn wifi back on successully. I have tried waiting a bit after turning it off to turn it back on as well as immediately after turning it off. I am forced to go into Settings>Wireless & Networks>WiFi Settings and then it will immediately and automatically associate with the access point.

Any thoughts? Can someone else try this to see if they have the same experience and post your findings?

I use several apps from Curvefish. I have real good luck with them, even the Wifi.

I have experienced the same as you, sqlgeek, regarding toggling wifi. Whether using the shortcut widget, the Power Control widget, or linking directly to the wifi settings with a shortcut, toggling is able to successfully disable wifi but can't re-enable it. Always have to go back into wifi settings (even when using wifi settings to disable it!) to get previously recognized access points to reconnect.

Always have to go back into wifi settings (even when using wifi settings to disable it!) to get previously recognized access points to reconnect.

I have had this problem a few times, but not just with the Incredible. I find that that it happens when my WiFi signal is weaker. If I am outside my house or at the opposite end of it, I sometimes have trouble switching my WiFi on. If I am at my desk, where the router is, I have no problems (on either phone). I've tried it time and time again. My bedroom is at the opposite end of the house a floor below where the router is and I sometimes lie in bed and play with my phone (or my girlfriends Droid). Weak signal requires me to go back into settings, while a strong one does not.

Have you guys tried checking your signal strength on your WiFi?

I can turn WiFi on/off using the built in widgets or settings; however, once I turn WiFi off, after a few minutes the phone turns WiFi back on again, automatically. I can't stop this from happening.

I had this problem a couple of times on the Incredible today. I never had it on the Eris with 1.5 or even with the leaked 2.1 OS...

Tried this at my parents house with a nonexistent phone signal and the wireless router 4 feet away and still no go...

Yeah, I am getting the same results. Anyone found a solution to this yet?

I had a similar problem with you guys, failed to turn the wi-fi back on from the power control widget. It only happened when the wi-fi signal is low (or none). And I also notice that if I disable the "Network notification" option under the Wi-Fi settings, I'm able turn on/off the wi-fi through the widget without any problem. I'm using Samsung Galaxy IS9000.

Anyone would like to try that too and give feedback?
