My shiny new Desire won't display the only website I want it to!

Hi guys. First post so please be kind if I don't know what I'm on about!

Bought my Desire yesterday (on Orange). I do a lot of internet betting and use thebettingsite.co.uk every day. However - tried this on the Desire and it just won't display the live prices when you select a horse race. This works absolutely fine on an iphone, and other types of website (live football scores etc) seem to display ok - just don't know why this site doesn't!
I'm hoping it's just some settings somewhere.
I've already downloaded and tried Skyfire browser but this doesn't make any difference.
Any clues?

If it's flash content, then Android doesnt support flash fully.

Have you tried disabling mobile view in the browser settings.

The website displays perfectly on iphones so don't think it's a flash problem.
Also just tried disabling mobile view in browser settings - to no avail...

Have you not got some kind of content lock via Orange?

They tend to block gambling and adult sites.

May be worth getting in touch with orange to make sure there the adult content lock is not switched on. They have to do it thier end.

Not Orange - I currently have my 3 sim in it and also tried it through my home network. No difference.

Also tried Dolphin & Skyfire with all combinations of browser settings. No difference.

Just to clarify, I can access the website, it's just when you select a specific horse race (or any betting event) you should see the live prices on the screen which you can then select in order to place a bet. It's these live prices that are not appearing on the screen. This works fine on an iphone and even my step daughters ipod touch.

I can access similar sites that display live updated football scores etc, it's just I use this site every day at home & really need it to work on my Desire!

It works for me, but only if I leave the page zoomed out. If it's zoomed in and I click on a race to show the prices, the prices won't display. But if I haven't zoomed in, the prices are displayed when I select a race.

I don't know whether there is a setting to sort this out, perhaps someone else can help you there.

Hmmm. Does the same thing on my phone as well (on Virgin Mobile) - all the entries in the screenie above do not appear. Strange as its the only site that I've come across that does this. Looking around the site there are other stats that do appear and others that do not. Very strange.

Skyfire is the solution - confirmed, but ironically enough setting the view to Android seems to fix it on my phone (the desktop and iPhone settings didn't solve anything on mine). Have no idea why this is the case but it does the trick.

Edit: and double weirdly I just moved back to the default browser which was still on the page and the prices are now appearing - zoomed out or in. Could it be something to do with Skyfire in the background? Just rebooted and tried again and they do not appear in the standard browser which means it is either a) time, b) some sort of additional functionality in Skyfire. Recommendation though is to use SkyFire in Android mode.

thanks guys very intrigueing - just tried it again and the prices appeared for 1 race, could even zoom in! Selected another race - no prices. Went back to the first and they's disappeared again! Seems like something is trying to work but not all the time.

Same thing happens to me on WiFi. If I'm unzoomed when I click on a race it works, but if I zoom in to click then prices don't show up.

Definitely seems like a bug, I'd report it to HTC.

Could possibly be down to the development of the site itself. Perhaps standards compliant code in some areas and a little bit shoddy in others.

just an update for anyone interested.
Wisewood - you were correct. Had a nice email back from thebettingsite.co.uk saying the site is not fully compatable with Android yet. They will soon (apparantly) be working on a nice new app.
