Help Unlocking the phone with a different button?

I really love my Incredible, and have found many of the bugs are due to me still learning the system and it's apps. However, the one thing that BUGS THE HECK out of me is the unlock procedure. I hate grabbing the phone, adjusting my grip to hit the (power/unlock) button, readjusting my grip, then sliding the screen lock. Is there any way to use the optical joystick button to initiate the unlock procedure, as I think this would make using the phone SO much more enjoyable. I don't like fumbling with the device everytime I use it, MAKE IT EASIER HTC! Anyway, what are you're thoughts on this issue?

Well, then lets start a petition... Maybe we can get this to 1000+ posts so someone does something about this. I downloaded lockbot free to check it out, and seems like a lot just to use that button for unlock. I think it might increase battery drain also, considering it has to run on sleep to moniter that button.

I don't get no lock. I downloaded it and put the widget on my screen but it doesn't seem to do anything. It changes color from orange to green and shows locked, but my screen isn't locked. How exactly is this suppose to work? There are zero instructions with the widget.

uh lol

When it shows locked that means when you turn on your screen you have to do the slide thing to unlock your phone.

When it's not locked, when you turn on your screen you'll just be at home without having to do the extra unlock slide.

Oh, I get it lol. I THOUGHT it was a widget that allowed you to lock the screen itself by hitting the widget. Seems like you are only saving one very small step, hitting the menu button to unlock the screen.

I think original poster wanted to avoid hitting the power button initially to get the unlock screen where you can slide or hit menu key. Wanted a one step process so they didn't have to move their hand position on phone.

when its unlocked you can hit the volume rocker or trackpad to wake up the phone while its asleep......the trackpad doesnt work 100% of the time but the volume rocker does

i like the app cause i like to use the lock pattern but sometimes its a waste of time like when i have the phone right next to me while im at work
