Root Eris 2.1 Kernel Source is OUT!

the release date is feb 1 2010..... isn't this the 1.5 source code thats been there for a while? I don't see 2.1 anywhere, but I am unable to open the file here at work. just asking...

Actually the release date is 4/30/2010, not sure what you are looking at. Maybe you are viewing a cached copy of the page. Try clearing cache and reloading.

I'm going to go on record and say this has me excited. Getting my 2.1 phone rooted would be super.

edit: maybe not....xda devs say that this won't do anything for non-rooted 2.1 leakers.

Geez... Give them some time. It just came out this morning. They're prob just saying that it wont help leakers so that they aren't inundated with the same question over and over.

Give it some time, They have been waiting for this for a reason. I believe it will help everyone, rooted or leaked.

Its just a bit odd that HTC released the 2.1 Kernel before the 2.1 OTA is even out. So, one would assume that the OTA will be following.... eventually :)

"Go look at my heroc commits for the heroc on github.com. I've added my latest oc source there. Also for setcpu u need to use custom settings and make a setcpu.txt and put it on ur sdcard. I've gotten the heroc stable at 768mhz with that code and if u use setcpu u can adjust ur min and max freq to whatever u want. To save battery or get awesome fps in games. My current code scales really well and is much nicer then mine and phhussons first oc patch."

this appearently works on the eris as he posted it on the eris forum, only problem is i cant seem to find what he is talking about on github.

if someone can give clearer instructions on how to get to the code thatd be awesome :)
