Help I missed the 'OTA', now what?

Yesterday afternoon I had the notification on my incredible that an OTA was available. I inadvertently cleared the notification without installing and don't know how to get the update now. I have tried going to system update but it says nothing is available. I have also compared my software numbers to those posted by phandroid and I definitely have the old, non-updated versions.

Will Verizon eventually push me another update or have I completely missed the boat?

I am just guessing, but if I were you, I would press the menu button, go into settings, scroll down to the bottom to "About Phone", select that, and look at the "System updates" selection. Mine says I am up to date, but I never received a notification anyway.

Maybe just the google maps update. About a day after I activated my phone, I had a notification that there was a system update. Turned out to be google maps... If you've already received that update, then please disregard this comment.

App updates are presented differently from OTA's. An app update is flagged by an icon on the task bar. An OTA is a popup notifying you that an update is available for your phone.

So what is the update designation (xxx.xxx.xxx) & or what is the 2.1 designation & or where is this all shown?
BTW: I have both a "update available" icon (Android market... but have none there available) & a "more (not displayed) displayed) notification Icon which I'd sure like to know just what they were (or how to see them).... Any help would be appreciated

I found answers to my questions: In other that the home screen I was able to "hit" the "additional info" which took me to VZ updates. Then all I needed to do was to "clear". As far as where the build/rev etc. is located I found the "Android System Information" widget and it has it all!!

Mine says I am currently updated. I have not updated it myself.
OP, do what the first quote says. It should search for the update again if it was indeed a true OTA.

As for both of you, if you have not received a notification for an OTA, then you are NOT updated. You DO have the updated version of 2.1 which is why it says "update-1" however that is different than the OTA that has just been released.

The update fixes an issues with microsoft exchange support. From what i have been told unless you're on the data package that has exchange support($44.99) you wont get the update because you dont need it. Now if you're using the $30 data package and exchange and dont get the update you may have to go to the higher data package.

I'm not so sure about the data package thing between the 30 and 45 dollar package. I'm on the #30 package and I got the update notification this morning. It just so happens that I had 3G turned off and was using the WiFi at work. As luck would have it, at the very same moment I went to my notifications to install the update, they rebooted the servers at work and I lost the WiFi connection. The message I got stated hat I had lost the network and the the download/update was stopping. The notification cleared and I got no update.

When I purchased the DI I asked specifically about the two data plans, and my Verizon rep, from a company store, told me that if I was using the native HTC Sense exchange client, to connect to my work exchange server, that the $30 data plan would suffice. I've been connected with push getting notifications and having no exchange problems.

I'd still like the update though.

from Engadget:/* Saturday afternoon, reports came in that Verizon's new Droid Incredible had already received its first OTA update. Nobody knew quite what it did and few even received it, but some figured it probably fixed the smattering of random reboots and radio bugs experienced by some early adopters. We reached out to Verizon on the matter, and we're afraid to say that's not the case -- the new 1.22.605.2 CL161494 software build merely fixes a bug in Microsoft Exchange support. As such, you'll only see the update if you've got a corporate handset, and those who do can expect their carbon-copy email fields (which would apparently fill with unintended addresses beforehand) to be fixed sometime around May 6th. On the off-chance that fix magically transforms your mobile world, feel free to let us know in comments. Full statement after the break.

Don't worry about it people, you'll get the update. I'm sure the system just runs through preset batches of phones to offer the updates. If you got offered it and declined it or it failed, it will probably show up again in a few days. I would suspect that once the system has passed through the entire database, all of the "failed" addresses will be broken up into a second run and offered in batches again (depending on how many of them there are).
