Help Phone will not vibrate in vibrate mode... advice?

Phone will not vibrate when I receive emails, SMS, or gTalk messages if I put it in VIBRATE ONLY mode. Phone calls do vibrate.

In settings for each of those apps, I have a check mark in the Vibrate box.

My Vibrate mode *used* to work, but when I uninstalled Quick Profiles it seems to have killed vibrations for everything except phone calls.

Any thoughts? I saw a few people had the same problem and ended up having to wipe. Hoping to avoid this, but will do it if I have to.

I was having the same problem ... In vibrate mode my phone calls would vibrate however, none of my other notifications would vibrate even with the appropriate boxes checked. I then downloaded a program called "profile" from market place and it does a great job and is very customizeable~ and everything works perfectly. Oh yeah...it's free! :)

I reinstalled Quick Profiles and it will Vibrate again, even when I kill Quick Profiles. Will mess around a bit more and see if I can get rid of Quick Profiles without losing Vibration notifications.

But at any rate, seems like there's a bug in Quick Profiles that if you uninstall it -- at least in some circumstances -- it will kill all of your vibrate notifications.

Are you sure it didn't just untick the vibrate setting in each app? Messages, gmail, etc?

Nope. Every check box that can be checked for the vibrate function is checked!

Ditto, they were all checked for me to. As soon as I reinstalled Quick Profiles, my vibrations began to work again.

This is not necessarily a good solution, because if I don't want Quick Profiles, I don't want to keep it just so my phone functions as it should.

Did you have any apps or anything that affected your phone's vibrations? Did you uninstall it? That might have something to do with it.

An app that was downloaded killed your vibration settings (not sure which one on my phone), I had to download sound manager ( free ) and it shows your vibration settings and you can re-enable to vibrate whenever possible, you can then get rid of the app if needed.
Thanks for the Sound Manager tip! That did the trick for me. Vibration on notifications never worked on my phone...then I installed this app, turned them on, and voila! They work.

i down loaded the quick profiles and it still did not help my evo messages and ringtone vibration problem.

my sms messages and ringtone vibration setting are on and the phone still wont vibrate, does anyone have any other suggestions.

Check out post #11, that's what worked for me back in the day. Although this is an Incredible thread at its origin, it may work for the Evo too as our phones are quite similar in many regards. Be sure to check the vibe whenever possible box in Sound Manager.

Thanks to everyone that said to download sound manager. It helped my cell to vibrate again. No more missing texts, alerts, and emails that I so disparately need. I just wanted to send a thank you to everyone for helping my cell work. I been stressing about this for a few days downloading all sorts of things to make my vibration work.
