Juice Defender on the HTC Desire ?

What do you mean? What issue would it help with and why would it "eat battery"? The whole point of the app is to SAVE battery. Are you saying it doesn't work?

Juice defender and plotter installed, I got less out of my battery. Even with plotter disabled, I was seeing an additional 1-2% drain/hour.

Was enough for me not to consider paying for it.

I installed Juicedefender, but i had to get a refund.
Its not that its bad, im sure it woudl help, but i cant see it helping to the extent i want it too.
I want a battery that lasts at least 2 days, and that aint gonna happen, so i will just lump it.

Also, i like to be in control of when i check emails, receive emails, have wifi/3G on etc.
If i had a schedule setup to turn off mobile or wifi at night, sometimes i stay up later and want to check emails before bed, anbd will have to faff about changing settings.
I want to be able to be in control of my phone and feel i cant do that with it, or any of the battery saving/auto-profile apps.

If its what you need though it is a good app.

It has an option to keep wifi/3g enabled while the screen is on (ie, while you are using it) - so there is no loss of control.

The main advantage is that it keeps wifi/3g off while the phone is locked, and enables it for only a short period of time at intervals to sync email, facebook, twitter etc. For example, 1 minute every 15. So thats over 90% less time with battery hungry wifi or 3g enabled while the phone is idle.

I use it and I think its pretty good. Its all about having it set up right. My set up is the same as Galfwender for mobile network being activated 1min every 15mins, but also have it set to keep mobile network active whilst data is being transferred so nothing gets missed. It also activates the mobile network when my screen comes on, and I have noticed a marked improvement in battery life - the phone nearly lasts the whole day!

This app has its potential, but I seem to have problems re-connecting to APN. This happens in the morning (after JuiceDefender shutting down wifi/3g during the night) and leaving my home wifi range. When I get to my office there is no APN connection and I have to reboot my Desire to get it back. Yesterday I disabled JuiceDefender and no problems with APN so far. I will test this setup for couple of days to be sure.

You're not the only one with this problem, I'm in the same boat, as are these people:

Latedroid: JuiceDefender

Might be worth registering your issue there too.
