MicroSDHC C. 6 vs internal storage

4 questions :)

1. I was wondering what reads faster (maybe also compared to the iPhone internal storage?)

2. Also... seems like I am using up most of the internal storage on my hero... Do I ony use the internal storage when I install apps? Cause then it would take some time to use my 100MB that I have left?

3. And will the OS run any slower with less internal memory?

4. If I need more internal storage I guess I have to root my phone. Any cons in doing so?

I can't vouch for the iPhone, but internal NAND (flash) memory will always be faster than external.

Yes.

It shouldn't as the storage memory is separate from the system memory.

Loss of warranty, plus the inconvenience of having to wipe the handset and being unable to mount /sdcard if apps are running are the primary ones. It's a pretty safe procedure if you follow the instructions. Unless you're with T-Mobile and have updated the ROM, in which case you're stuffed as that version can't (yet) be rooted.
