Rollover minutes off-contract?

I'm currently on AT&T with the Palm Centro, but my contract is running out this July and I'm planning to get an Android phone (probably HTC EVO 4G on Sprint) as my next step. However, I have quite a few rollover minutes left over on my AT&T contract.

I'm wondering, is there any way to use up those rollover minutes before switching to Sprint? If I don't renew my AT&T contract and switch to a pay-as-you-go plan, will I lose those rollover minutes, or will I get to use them up before being charged?

Just trying to think of ways to get the most for my money. Any help is appreciated

From my previous time on AT&T, if you continue paying monthly (like you still had a contract... but without being under contract) you will not lose the rollover minutes until they are scheduled to be lost.

There was a time when you could get a lower min plan and keep your rollerover mins. But they have changed it to where you only keep the amount of mins of the plan you sign. But as was said once you go off contrat and are just month to month it works just like it did while under contract.

I wonder if you could get Google Voice, link your AT&T number to it and use it up. Don't know if its possible or not. Could be worth looking into.

You can't drop your plan minutes while in contract? I've been able to do this with other carriers.

If you can't, then I say take the loss. You may loss more money and time in the long run, trying to get your money's worth. Keep your AT&T service till the EVO releases then switch to Sprint.

I haven't tried calling AT&T yet, but looking on their website I'm able to change to any prepaid minute plan but not remove the minute plan entirely. I'm currently on their cheapest minute plan - 450/mo - but I have 1800 rollover minutes to use. Basically, what I'd like to do after my contract runs out is not pay for any minutes until I use up my rollover minutes or they expire. I figure I could probably get a good month or two of free minutes out of that. By then, the Evo will might be cheaper or there might be an even better phone on the market

This seems like the kind of thing AT&T probably wouldn't allow though.

Actually when all your mobile to mobile minutes dont count towards your monthly limit, you'd be surprised out how quick the minutes stack up think I have like 4k stacked up, but if I go down to the next lower plan which would be what I would actually average it would only save me $10 a month...

HustlinDaily: I'm not trying to get out of paying Sprint for minutes when I switch, I'm just trying to think of ways I could possibly use up my AT&T rollover minutes before switching.

Most people I know are also on AT&T, so the vast majority of my minutes don't count because of the unlimited mobile-to-mobile. I'm halfway through my billing period and I've only had 8 minutes counted so far
