Will my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 with only 1 gig of RAM receive a Kit-Kat update? I thought some Phones with only 1 gig of ram would not, like the International version of the S3 and the mini, but since it is a tablet, I wondered if it would get an update or is it burdened to much with the Touchwiz Launcher? I know there are better tablets out there for the same money, but I keep hardly anything on it and surf the net and use it to control my TV and use Chromecast with it so it serves me well even if it doesn't get the update. Any Ideas? Thanks

I don't believe I have multiple acounts now, I wasn't prompted anything, but I don't password protect it. I never looked into multiple windows, I know my S3 does and I don't like it or use it. I don't have an sd card and I don't store any music or pictures on it. I just use it to watch videos and movies, surf, emails and stream content to my Chromecast. I've been looking long and hard to find a way to cast my entire screen via Chromecast - I have a Miracast dongle, it lags when streaming live sports to it. I downloaded the Samsung All-Cast app and it only showed up on my aplication manager with all of my other apps but I never got a screen icon to use it. I'm thinking I should have paid more and bought the pro tab, but I'm still really happy with it. I get tired of squinting at my S3 and I never pick up my toy iphone 4. My PC never gets any attention either. My next buy will be a Note 4 over Christmas break.

When you go to Settings do you have multiple tabs? That's what I noticed as different from my Tab 2 vis-a-vis the Tab 4 with KitKat. It has Miracast built in as I recall, and the other options I mentioned. The multiple accounts/profiles is if you share your device,i.e., I created myself as the owner and set it up and then created a separate one for my father before giving it to him as a gift. Plus there are additional hand gestures (e.g. for screen captures, etc. Most of it I turned off.

I have multiple tabs when I go to settings. I keep most settings off. I wish Google would quit dragging their feet with screen mirroring for devices using Chromecast. Hey, I had dirrectv for 13 years and became a cord cutter and an ice storm took out my house antenna but I still get a few channels. I need to buy another home antenna. I found an app called Live USA channels and it has you download MX player. It has a bunch of stations like ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, NFL Network, FOX, CW, FX USA, AMC, USA Network, TNT, Discovery Channel, TBS, HBO, MTV, ESPN, ESPN2, NBA TV, TLC, FOX Sports, National Geographic channel, TSN, Fox News, A&E, ABC Family, Animal Planet, SyFy, Bravo, and 66 other channels in which some are from other countries but some are good ones like a bunch of Sky sports and Sky movies. I had to go into my MX player and unclick some of the decoder settings to get it to work, not sure if it would have worked without unchecking them.

As I said, if you look under one of the settings tabs there s/b an option for Miracasting. It might be called something else like Screen Mirror.
Looks like it might not be compatible on your device though:

Yes, that first link doesn't show my Tab 3 10.1 and the second link gets in to why and makes me want to sell my tablet and the third link talks about Miracast and Chromecast. Thanks for the links.

However, Even though my Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 will not screen cast wirelessly Like I said, I want Google to quit dragging their feet add more devices to allow screen mirror casting to the Chromecast so I can use my S3. I know it can because I use apps that cast to Chromesast and I use Miracast to screencast. Chromecast is a nice tool. I understand how the technology works as described in the third link. I just want my S3 added to it
