I checked lot of forums and discussion but could not find any solution thus posting this for support. I tried lot of solutions given in forums but didnt help.

Main Problem - I have a ALL IN ONE PC, LAPTOP and 1 mobile. All are connected via wifi. ALL detects WIFI, my SSID, accept passwords, obtains IP and says connected. PC and laptop also gets internet access and I can chat/skype/browse/google everything. But in mobile - wifi detected password accepted but cannot do anything relate to internet. Shows no access.in Google playstore it keeps loading loading and loading and in end says no access. Cannot sync gmail / google talk . Cant FB.

In Short in Mobile cannot access internet even though wifi is connected and gives xcellent signal.
It worked when I brought the mobile, it worked for a month and all of a sudden without changing any settings it has stopped almost for last 15 days.

I thought it was something with my mobile - I took my mobile to friends and relatives place and also to mobile shop..everywhere without changing any setting in mobile it connects with their wifi, also get internet access and can do everything.

SO its not with my mobile, Could it be Router problem?
But then if router problem then my laptop and pc also would have got internet access.

I tried my friends mobile with my wifi and same problem detect wifi accepts password but no internet access in his mobile too..

I hope someone can help me.

I am having bsnl broadband connection, HUAWEI modem with LINKSYS BEFW11S4 router.

Things I tried (from what other mentioned in forums thread)

a. I did forget network and again on detetcing and accepting password it does not connect.

b. I tried to forget and manually add SSID and password - still did not work

c. I tried modifying network and gave static ip bot with within dhcp range and out of dhcp range but did not work.

d. at 192.168.1.1 I checked everything and changed dhcp range but still does not work.

e. I have WEP security. If I changed to WAP - it does not work in pc and laptop also.

Hi skpshah and welcome to Android Forums. I'm not a router guru but I believe the problem lies with your router. If it worked and now doesn't... you have tried another mobile device without success, and yet your PC and laptop still work..
I will suggest powering off the router and pulling the power from it. If you have all day to throw at the project.. I'd do the same with the modem. Over night might work as well. Plug the modem in and let it obtain an address. Then connect the router and power up. Check the PC and laptop for internet. Lastly try you phone.
If that doesn't set things right send me a pm and I'll see if I can find someone that knows much more than me to lend a hand.

Hello olbriar,

As suggested by you, I powered off router and modem overnight and pulled off all chords.
In the morning after about 12 hours I connected modem first let it boot up and then powered the router and connected to modem.

But still the same issue, PC and laptop connects WIFI, accept password and intrnet works BUT in mobile I get wifi connects obtains Ip nd gives connected, but nothing relate to internet work. In google play store it keeps giving LOADING, in browser...it keeps showing the blue line at top starts but then it gets struck and doesnt increase further..nothing relate to internet works, no googlemail no google talk.
ALSO for your note: mobile is much closer t router then the laptop.

I had this problem on my Xperia SP and was able to solve it.

It all started when I changed the setting "Keep WiFi on during sleep" from "Never" to "Always". After that, my phone would connect to wireless signals though I wasn't able to browse.

After turning off Stamina Mode, I was able to browse again! It seems there was some kind of conflict between those two settings..

I have been having this problem with my LG phone and tablet I just got. I tried multiple things but before I reset my router I tried going to the WiFi tab then tapping the "menu" bars down on the bottom right of my phone and tablet. From there I chose the "connect by WPS button" option. This option might be in slightly different places under the WiFi option on different phones. On my old galaxy nexus phone the "connect by WPS..." option is a separate button on it's own in the WiFi tab...just two arrows circling each other so to speak.

When you choose to connect by WPS button a window will pop up that instructs you to tap the WiFi protected setup (hence WPS) button on your router. Check your router manual but it should be on the top or, I'm guessing, front of it. My D-Link router has it on top. The progress bar that shows up is just the amount of time you have to find and tap the WPS button. Once you tap it and your device reconnects you should restart your device and hopefully you will have internet access once again.

I had bought a new samsung grand 2 phone and had the same problem. I used a wireless router in my home to which i could easily connect all the laptops as well as iphone but my samsung mobile could not connect to it. I tweaked with the mobile wifi settings but was unsuccessful. Then I changed the router settings. the wireless connection was initially WEP security type. i think android phones do not support this type of security. i changed it to WPA-PSK security and it worked. I had to change the settings in the laptop and iphone to be able to connect to this new setting.

hii skpshah,
i faced the same problem as you mentioned and on resetting the router it works fine my router is same as you have i.e linksys befw11s4. but the problem i am facing after resetting is i have lost the wep security(i.e. it is now open no security lock) when i setup the lock(only wep lock available) internet access gets lost. , my laptop shows limited internet access and phone keeps showing "obtaining ip address" on removing the password (i.e making it open again) everything works fine. but i want to put the lock which i am unable to due to this problem. please help !!

My problem, as the OP, is that my Note 2 will not work with ANY wireless router...not just the one at home. (4G works fine.)

Oddly, I can use the Speedtest app, and get very good download/upload speeds...but when I try to use any other app with the internet, Google Drive, a browser, Amazon Photos, etc etc, the app returns an error saying "not connected to internet" or similar.

This worked for me on my Samsung Galaxy Note5...who would have thought using WPS versus manually entering the password for Wi-Fi would be preferred?!?!? Any thoughts WHY?
