FCC ID NM8PB99400 - What phone is this?

The other day in the main chatter thread, some folks were talking about keeping tabs on recent FCC filings. Bored, I did some digging myself and was able to identify all recent FCC filings by HTC EXCEPT this phone. I posted up in that thread but think it got lost amid the chatter.

So all you folks who keep tabs on the FCC, what phone is this???

Now I might be totally wrong as I have never looked at these before but I would say it is a phone destined for ATT due to it using the 1900mhz frequency(?).

EDIT: NVM Sprint and Verizon also use it, so I guess all I can say is it is not coming to T-Mobile.

Why would att use a cdma chipset? Just asking.

So usually suspects. It is Hero2, Nexus 2, Evo (with wimax withheld) or (ducks) a test phone.

Strongly lending towards hero2/legend or nexus 2.

I couldn't find anything about the Hero 2. All I could find is that its supposed to come out in 2010, and was supposed to be shown off at the mobile world congress (but I'm pretty sure it wasn't).

Like I said I had no clue what I was looking at as all I saw was the frequencies, the page you linked to was a lot better than what I saw.

I sure hope this is the Hero 2, I need a cheaper smart phone for the rest of the family when we move to Sprint.

I am not sure about that. That would mean it would have been filed months ago. About the same time as hero.

That information was based on the Engadget photos. That ID has not been filed and there are claims that the Evo has already passed the FCC. Therefore I'm playing the skeptic and still scouring the FCC for any unknown HTC devices that pop up.

This is where I got it, I don't know they would change it and if it had passed, why didn't it have a complete FCC tag at the conference? I've been looking at the FCC everyday, it seems the latest HTC slider last week doesn't pull up in regular search. It seems it was found another way. I don't know of any other way then generic search.
River can you explain why it would have been filed back around the Hero? Is it because of the number? Isn't the Hero number PCHERO200? The Incredible is PB31200(correct?) so I don't get the number sequence if there is one compared to creation date. New to the FCC thing.

Phonescoop.com is a good place to do a quick check on filings. Which HTC phone has the label NM8PB99400? It was certified back in April. I haven't been able to find which phone it is. I haven't been able to find the approval listing for Evo on the FCC website at all. I hope it's there, just well hidden.

Yep, already been utilizing Phonescoop.com as a cross-reference. But again, in the case of this particular FCC ID, it too was of little help.

And another HTC Legend was just approved yesterday, so that eliminates that possibility.

It is Sprint's version of the nexus one, the first 4 characters(pb99) were the original nexus one. Hence no wimax and CDMA.
