Help alarm dont work?????

I know this is a dumb question, but I set alarm yesterday for this morning, but it never go off, how do set it right????

Thanks
Red

Are you running a task killer by any chance? Most people with this problem are killing the clock task.

Also check your volume on the alarm. It's different that your "Ringer" or "Media" volume controls. Use your volume controls when in the "Alarm Sound" setting the alarm and you should see it say "Alarm Volume"

Maybe. And that's all anybody can tell you as long as you're running task killer.

Of course, that's not to say that it's impossible for some other problem to be causing your alarm issues, but it's impossible to troubleshoot while you're deliberately shutting off a bunch of random functions.

If you don't know EXACTLY what a task does, DON'T TOUCH IT.

Imagine if I told you that I opened up Task Manager on my Windows PC, went to the Services tab and stopped every task in that list and then came to you and asked you why my "X" program wasn't working any more. What would you suggest as a first step in figuring out what the problem is??

I propose a new rule. Every person running a task killer must place said information in their signature and is not allowed to have any troubleshooting assistance until they stop it.

It's just friggin mind blowing. And the fact that some people have actually made statements like "what would "clock" have to to do with my alarm?" is just absolutely frightening. These people are walking among us every day...be careful out there.

lol what's more mind blowing to me is that someone actually MADE the app cause they thought it would be helpful.

Well, I would say that "task killing" in general can be useful (anything AUTO killing is just blatantly foolish from initial concept). But something like OS Monitor can be useful for troubleshooting. If something is amiss, you can use tools like this to look into things and maybe kill an app that is misbehaving.

The problem is, 90% of the people using these apps don't have a basic understanding of what exactly they're doing. It's like giving a chainsaw to a 5 year old and telling him to give himself a haircut.
