Fresh 2.0d or damage 2.08

right now im running fresh 2.0d. before fresh i had damage 2.07 and i loved it besides my battery life would be crappy. Now i notice there is a damage 2.08 on the front forum page. should i go to damage 2.08 or just keep fresh 2.0d ?

I've stuck with Fresh 2.0d, simply because the first ROM I flashed was Fresh 1.1 also Flipz is very helpful and will usually get fixes out asap. I know alot of people use the Damage ROM too, and from what I understand it has a built in updater (correct me if I'm wrong). Try both, plus there are a ton of other ROMs on XDA too.

I used fresh2.0d and I thought it was pretty stable but since running DamageControl2.07 and updating to 2.08 though DC_Updater I have to say it seems smoother and more responsive. My battery like is rocking too! I am going to push it though to see just how long it lasts.

Try them both out then come to your own conclusion.

I updated to DC 2.08 over the weekend. No issues and some definate improvements. Smooth and fast.

I updated to 2.08 last night.....so far it's been running pretty good..better than 2.07 IMO..

I've read that it's fixed, and that friendstream is working, also.

For me, Facebook and Friendstream weren't working at first. After wiping and reflashing the ROM they are both working. Although my contacts have been very, very slow to sync with Facebook.

I am using damage right now and have had fresh 2.0d on as well both have worked well. Try both and keep the one you like best,

2.08 DC is working great for me, the built in updater is very cool, and the facebook and friendstream work fine...

I have the Damage 2.08 and it works really well. In dconfig banned apps I unchecked sense and got back some of the widgets that I thought were missing that I have come to like.
Facebook though seems not to sync well. Only my first 300 contacts have been recognized..up to the letter M. Any ideas on how to fix?
Also if I try to add another account and try to select facebook (not facebook htc) nothing happens either...

Need help getting Damage 2.08 on my sister's hero. Here is where I am at:

Step By Step Way to root Using Flashrec(Updated 4/5) - xda-developers

So, based on what I think I know now, is this so far on the right track:

1.) "First things first, you are going to need to download these files.

2.) Download:
http://dl.damagedroms.com/2.0/DamageControlv2.08.zip

So am I correct in this?

If I am, I would think that the next step would be to:

3.) Connect phone to computer and Mount the sd card and place all 3 of those downloaded files onto the root of the sdcard.

4.) Run/open the flashrec apk.

5.) Once it's finished installing, unplug the usb cable, run the app, and hit the button, "backup recovery image".

6.) Exit app, reconnect phone to computer and mount the sd card again, and move recovery-backup.img (not sure what this is or where to find it yet) to my desktop, then rename recovery-RA-heroc-v1.6.2.img to recovery-backup.img

7.) Unmount sdcard, unplug usb cable, and go back into the flashrec app(should be named recovery flasher in all programs list)

8.) hit restore backup image. Once finished flashing, power down phone.

9.) After you power down your phone, hold the Vol Down button, then hold down the power button. Phone should boot into hboot. Press home for recovery.

10.) To ensure I have a backup of her phone before I continue, I must do a nandroid v2.2 backup.

11.) After the nandroid backup is complete, I can now choose apply "sd card update choose", and choose the modaco or damage control rom

12.) Reboot the phone...

Is this all I need to do to get Android 2.1 (along with a custom rom) on my sister's hero? (Basically will all this give her 2.1?) And also, could some one show me how to flash back to the hero's stock 1.5 firmware if I need to?

If there are any mistakes please correct them. Thanks so much
