Wow, almost all of the results that have come in say 20+ hours uptime.. I only go about 5-6 hours of uptime between charges. It's not that bad for me because I'm almost always near a computer but I have been charging 3-4 times a day. Also, I have been a very heavy user, I can't put the thing down lol. I was at the auto parts store today and I wanted to compare prices so I checked out a competitor's price, found their phone number on the website, clicked on the number and it called them directly. It was awesome! I'm in awe. I would still like to get at least 10 hours of uptime though..

Could you post data? Curious to see how it might relate to others.

Ok today I decided to be extrmely conservative with my phone. Here is what I came up.

Battery Level 46%
Up Time 14:01
Awake Time 2:35

Cell Stand bye 29%
Phone Idle 28%
Android 18%
Voice Calls 7%
Display 5%
WiFi 5%
Dialer 4%
Maps 4%

Now I used WiFi whne I was around it, 3g when not, had both off for about 2hours, listened to music for maybe 30minutes, good amount of text , email , sports tap updates, facebook, Craigsnotifer , one navigation use 15minutes maybe, and live wall paper the whole time.

So I believe that 24hrs isn't completely out of the question with lite use and you could probably use for over 30hrs if 5-7 hrs of sleep with everything idle

Ya, I can try to post some data once I get a chance to properly run the test. Would it be better if I just went from full charge to dead or is it fine if I go from full charge to half charge? I don't know how accurate the reading is on these batteries. My gas gauge for instance always seems to go faster on the second half.. could just me trying to avoid getting gas though..

Anywhere below 50 would be fine. Maybe aim for around 20%?

I'm like you mainly. I had moderate phone use because I was at work but I'm alone in the office most of the time anyway free to respond to texts etc etc.

Note: I didn't start the trial with the phone off and I think my phone rebooted during the morning while running an app.

Stats-
Up Time: 20:23:00
Awake Time: 08:52:00
Unplugged: 13:26:07
Battery: 9%
Wifi: Off
GPS: On
Bluetooth: Off
Always on Mobile Data: Off
Sync: 4 - Facebook, Gmail account, Twitter, Weather (Every Hour)

Optional-
Android System: 31%
Cell Standby: 26% (Time without a signal 0%)
Phone Idle: 20% (Time on 10h 20m)
Camera: 11%
Display: 10% (Time On 3h 15m)
NexusMod Live Wallpaper: 2%

Additional-
Screen Brightness: about 20% ( Whatever the middle brightness is when using the power management widget)
Animations: All Animations
Screen Timeout: 1 Minute ( I normal lock the phone as soon as im done with it anyway)

This was pretty much the time I left for work to my security job and a few hours at home responding to texts. I was on the internet for at least an hour and watching youtube for about 20ish minutes. Did texting throughout the day which for me is about a text every 20 minutes or since I was working. Also did a bit of quick responding to texts back and forth because I was on lunch or break. I was using many applications like Market, Appbrain, Barcode Scanner, Craigslist Notification, Scanner Radio, Shazam, No lock.

Well thats mine. I would also like to note that the last hour I really limited my use because I had to go out and fear it dying. I did respond to texts and check email in this time period though. I'm in my early 20's and connected socially and I'm pretty sure I'm an accurate represenation of the poeple getting bad battery life. My battery have been fully drained at least 5 times now and many mid charges.

Here is mine for this afternoon/evening.

Stats-
Up Time: 10:11
Awake Time: 4:39
Unplugged: 10:11
Battery: 19%
Wifi: on 71.5%
GPS: off
Bluetooth: on 1.4%
Always on Mobile Data: Off
Sync: 2 (Backup assistant once a night, Weather every hour)

Optional-
Android System: 35%
Cell Standby: 25%
Phone Idle: 12%
Display: 12%
wifi: 12%
voice calls 2%
Dialer 2%

Additional-
Screen Brightness: about 20%
Animations: off
Screen Timeout: 2 minutes but lock out soon after using

I was home most of the day with a sick kid so had mobile off and wifi on. Spent about an hour in the car and used Slacker Radio for much of that, but with cached stations and not live feed, which is suppose to be much easier on the battery.

Glenn

I will download that program you recommend and keep track that way and then send you report if I can figure out how to do that.

The usuage in cell standby and phone idle is rediculous. That is the juice I want retained. If the phone had a better standbye mode that used less battery there would be no need for this thread.

What I've been wondering is that why did not one single reviewer notice the horrendous battery life? They most said they played with the phone for at least an hour so surely they would have noticed the battery dip so quickly.

I think that's because they've all said it has AVG Battery Life for phones in it's class. Which it does, it has better battery life then my Eris had and about the same as the Moto Droid. Better then the Storm or Storm2 . So I don't know what people want forom a phone like this.

Wow. 30%? That is extreme. It sounds like you have something not letting your phone sleep. Can you compare your Awake Time to the Up Time? Up time should be a good deal higher than your awake time after sleeping.

..and 10 percent was worse than I got the previous night. ( I think 6 percent )

I did not use airplane mode. I have always on mobile data off, bluetooth off, and wifi off. ( GPS on, but GPS does not work like the others. If no app is specifically trying to use the GPS, the GPS turns off and uses 0 power. ) I still had everything set to sync every hour. Can you check your battery usage to see what is eating the power while you sleep also? It should be almost entirely Phone Idle and Cell Standby. You can also check the usages in the battery usage section after dialing *#*#4636#*#*

I think I have a defective battery. On the second day I had the DI, I charged mine, made a couple quick calls, and went to bed with it at 83% around 11:30pm. Beforehand, I had wifi, bluetooth, and gps turned off (mobile network still on) and killed all running tasks. I woke up at 5:45am and it was completely dead. Granted this was only the second cycling of the battery I performed, I would like to think it would be a little better than that. Hoping the 1750mah battery I ordered can deliver better uptime than this.

Alrighty, so here's some more data. No airplane, no CMDA alot more phone calls today than yesterday around 2 and 1/2 hours worth total. Significantly more text and emails as well as downloading of apps and browsing the market.

UpTime: 19:55:00
AwakeTime: 2:35:07
UnPlugged time: 19:54:49
Battery %: battery level is 10 ( using *#*#4636#*#* )
Wifi: On
GPS: Off
Bluetooth: Off
Always on Mobile data: On
Sync: 3 Facebook / Google / Weather

7b) Optional: Include application use under "Battery Use"

Unplugged time:
Application 1: Cell Standby 23 % time without signal 8%
Application 2: Phone Idle 21%
Application 3: Voice Calls 21%
Application 4: Android System 13%
Application 5: Display 4%
Application 6: Wi-Fi 10%
Application 7: Camera 8%

Thanks. looks to be in the same range of utilization as last time- 13.58 vs 12.98. Both project battery life around 21/22 hours.

My storm 2 last 2 days easy with the same usage as I do on this phone but this phone only lasts about 8 hours. I'm literally afraid to make phone calls if I know its going to last more than 1/2 hour.

Would you mind posting your up time and awake time?

To get a sensible reading of this do the following :

Turn your phone off. Allow a few seconds before powering back up.

Tun the phone on. Allow it to run for 5-10 minutes

the information I'm looking for is under menu>settings>about phone>battery>batteryuse

Need uptime and awake time.

My old storm would last 1-2 days with the same amount of usage I use on my Inc and I'm lucky if I get 6 hours of use on my Inc. I've had I think 6 total battery cycles now out of my DInc

Data please.

Posting in this thread " My envy lasted 26 days on the same amount of usage" Does nothing for us...

We're here to collect data and come to a conclusion on others usage. It's odd that all of the users posting actual data here are getting near the same amount of usage. Meanwhile the ones complaining of crappy battery life have yet to actually follow the plan of recording the data so that we may be able to help them discover whats different in our phones to theirs.

Not trying to be a dick. All I'm saying is bitching about something does nothing to fix it. But if you participate, and share your data, we may very well be able to track the source of the problem and correct it.
