No Phone Zone Pledge, Did You Take It?

I used the old T9 physical clamshell phone keyboards to text while not ever having to look at what I was typing, driving or not. Lol... The smartphones and screen keyboards make that (feel) thing, impossible and impractical.

Now, I don't text while driving, but I certainly use my hands for other things, like GPS rerouting, changing the music on my stereo, sipping some water. SOON, those will all be illegal as well.

SO I too would refrain from SIGNING any declaration to submit to a loss of freedom of choice... while at the same time I would agree, it is not such a smart thing to do (TEXT & DRIVE) and I don't.

The closest I ever come to texting on my phone is if I'm typing in the first few letters of a song in the Music player.

I hate people that use their cell phones whilst driving. Why? Because people SUCK at driving while they are on a phone.

Not all people. There's some people in this world who shouldn't walk and chew gum at the same time. We gonna make a law against that as well?

I was next to a guy last week on the interstate doing 85mph who was reading the morning paper while he drove.... no shit. Then, about 10min later I was next to a woman who was not only putting on makeup in the sun visor mirror but was also reaching back and forth to drink her coffee. I don't think she was even watching the road at all to be honest. Yet people who text are dangerous.... right.

Nope, didn't take it. If I need to do something with my phone, I wait til I'm stopped at a light or I hit the microphone button on the keyboard and speak what I want to text. There's some of us that can multitask with ease, just like there's phones that can do the same (taking a jab at a certain product here), and there's those people that just flat out suck at it.

Even the 15" monitor in my car isn't quite the distraction to me you'd think it'd be. :p

S that ifor engine monitoring? And imo putting on make up and driving is much worse. But reading a paper and driving at those speeds is just stupidity.

I've seen someone brushing their teeth before while driving and someone else reading a book. On occasion people really into picking their nose, although that one's just funny more than anything.

I can use it for engine monitoring (and I have), but it's just a general purpose pc. I have all my music on it, gps, wifi, etc.

What about the lady I know that puts on her pantyhose while driving. Is that bad?

lol.

If she dies while driving her car, her family had best hope they disinvite me from the funeral.

I was nearly in an accident with a woman putting on mascara while driving... twice... in the same morning.

I kid you not, drifting half way into my lane the first time wasn't bad enough, but she had to do it again, when I tried to pass here again...

Edited to add: No law should be passed against cellphones and texting, until they ban putting makeup on in the car.
