Hi,
So yesterday I received the Skinomi Screen Protector I purchased fromAmazon
Tonight I got the guts to install the thing. I brought home a container of Anti-static screen wipes to assist me. So here is what I had:
(As you can see, my screen is pretty dirty)
Opening the Skinomi box you see the applicator spray:
Tucked away in the top part is the actual protector and "applicator":
First thing I did, per the instructions was to remove the battery:
Once I could muster up the balls I went into the bathroom and turned on the tap water as hot as I could. Then I used a couple of the anti-static wipes to clean the screen as best as I could. It looked beautiful, you should have seen it. (No pictures allowed in my bathroom )
Once it was clean enough I wet my fingertips with the spray. Then peeled off the Skin and wet it down. Finally, I spent about 10 minutes trying to position it perfectly. It didn't seem to fit perfectly. But Very good and I think once it sets you won't even see it anyways.
Finally I used the applicator to squeege out any bubbles and mopped up the extra liquid. Heres the final product:
Here is a close up (sorry for the blur):
My only real oddity is at the lower right of the phone (I'm thinking this will go away):
In general I though the application was easy and straightforward. The spray didn't bother me and I thought careful squeegeeing (sp?) was all that was required to prevent liquid from getting anywhere.
My only real issue is that upon close inspection it looks like a very small particle made it under the Skin. It is unnoticeable when looking directly at the screen so I don't think its a big deal.
Other then that the protector looks great and I think it was a good value.
I'll report back tomorrow when I finally power her up again. I actually feel lonely without her right now. The laptop feels like an old girlfriend and the desktop a hooker
