LG Ally vs Incredible

I had the following LG products all were great , had to get a few of them warrenty replaced but all in all good

LX9800
LX9900
Voyger
Dare

But I looked at the Ally and it doesn't look to appealing , and I think I'm over keyboards havent really ahd one (except the droid for a week) in over 2.5years.

I thought the Ally was going to have a the same snapdragon processor as the Incredible

Ally has pros and cons, the incredible is obviously a more power full device. cost will have some effect as well. Ally is supposed to be cheaper around the Eris price, it will have a resitive screen which would be good for ladies with long finger nails. Also, it will have the best keyboard on an android device. 3.2 Mp camera. 2.1 android. 3.5" screen. So it just depends on what you like I currently have an Env Touch, and the Ally is physically a very similar device so I need something new.

my eris was great until it dropped into a giant glass of water last night. i used to have a lg for about 4-5 years and the phone was solid as all hell. i think LG makes good products actually. i'll prob. be getting the incredible though.

I'd have to agree with you. My LG EnV is still running strong and I've dropped that thing a number of times (mainly because within my last year of having I simply didn't care to own a dumbphone anymore). My younger brother is due to get his first cell phone and this durable phone is perfect for him considering how he treats things.

I think the Incredible beats the Ally by a long shot, but I've had an ENV2 for the last 2 years and haven't had a single problem with it.

As far as I'm concerned I would get another LG product, but the HTC's out and coming out are way too awesome to pass up. :)

The env2 is junk. My wife has it and the voice quality absolutely stinks. Prior to the Android debut on Verizon, LG had the market cornered on touchscreen phones for big red. I remember test driving the voyager, dare, and env touch when they came out. Left the store disappointed each time. Part of the problem was the crappy resistive touchscreen but I also recall poor displays and a complete lack of smoothness in the ui. Hard to get excited about anything they're releasing.

You have to be kidding me! They went back to 1990 to use the inferior resistive screen tech? Auto-Fail! But yes LG made a good product throughout the decade, infact, LG was the number one selling regular phone maker on VZW for a long while, and it took the JD Powers award several times.

Looks like the LG Ally uses an the old ARM 11 cpu architecture running at 600mhz. This basically means that the Incredible is a little less than 4 times faster.

Im sure it will have better battery life, just dont expect performance. You will not get it. Plus it has a smaller screen.

Arm 11 is not very efficient, but the lower res screen and smaller display will make a pretty big difference.

jcoberg ,this device has a 3.2" screen and not a 3.5". This device is weaker than the similar mytouch slide, which does have 3.5" and 5mp camera.

lg phones that failed:
env3,env touch, chocolate, the list goes on all these phones have many problems which arent getting fixed. lg needs to step up and start producing quality phones.

The LG EnV Touch was a freezing disaster. Went through 3 of those pieces of...well, know. I had to reboot the things at least once, sometimes 3 times a day. The really fun part, is it would lose all your settings after the freeze.

The software "Updates" were useless. I'll stick with my Incredible until I know LG is making a good phone again.
The Incredible is 31/2 times faster, better camera, unbelievably fast browser, and absolutely no lag, with the snapdragon processor.
I do love the slide out keyboard on the Aly, but don't like it's lag. Once you're used to the performance of the Incredible, it's hard to use something else.
If you don't care about the speed, and love a slideout keyboard, I'd take it over the "Devour," but not the Incredible.
The Incredible has performed extremely well.

Just a hunch, but i doubt the ally will be as supported by OS updates and such since it's using such slow hardware. I can imagine the ally running flash 10 about as much as my droid eris can

And not like it really matters, but i think resale value will be better someday down the road when you get rid of the incredible. Especially since it's verizon's flagship phone
