Help Blocking Caller-ID info?

I am leaving my Nokia phone and have been researching what new phone to go to. I have rejected the iPhone and settled on the Hero based on multi-tasking and the ability to change the battery.

Here's my question about the Hero, which could be a deal breaker.

My Nokia has a setting whereby my telephone number is not shown on the called party's caller-id. In other words, when I call someone, their caller-id says "unavailable" "blocked" or something like that and does not display my telephone number.

Does the Hero have the ability to block its caller-id?

Yes but not stock. There are apps for this sort of thing in the app market. One of them, with a third party account, even lets you change what number you call from without blocking.

Dial *67 before the number and it will block the call
you could store this in the contacts number to set on a per caller basis and im sure some app does this

You could try Spoty.
Spoty - Android

It's location based, but you could always set like 2-3 locations and put a bigger radius - you have to set up locations where you want specific things to happen, like block calls from private numbers, whitelist blacklist, all etc, or change ringer profiles or remind yourself to buy something with an alert and send sms. It's a cool app. Its 1.99 but it's pretty solid and really nice looking.
