Ok, so kind of a 4 questions here.

Which of the stock apps do you use on a regular basis?

Which apps have you never used at all?

Which apps have you started using and never thought you would?

Which apps do you use in a way that is different from you think the original purpose was?


This is just for the stock Eris apps and please, let's keep things informative and useful.

OEM Browser, SMS and Mail. Other than that, I can't think of any stock apps that I use daily.

Peep, Footprints, Stocks, and IM I've tried but find completely lacking. For example, I like Twidroid much better than Peep.

I use the stock clock app/widget as my alarm clock and cooking timer. I use the stock browser now that 2.1 improved it. I think I am using the stock Facebook app, but I'm not sure

Oh, and Nav (on 2.1).

I don't Tweet, buy/sell stocks, or buy anything from Amazon.

Haven't really given the Music App a fair shake yet. Too busy playing with Apps to care about music

Stock apps I use on a regular basis are:
Browser, Calculator, Calendar, Camera, Facebook, Footprints, Gmail, Maps, Messages, Music, Navigator, Peep, People, Phone (obviously), Photos, Teeter, Voice recorder, weather and youtube

I haven't used the camcorder, desk clock, Mail, Mp3 Store, Quickoffice, Stocks or Visual VM...yet.

I never thought I would use Footprints or the voice recorder, but I have actually found them both to be very useful.

I have no idea what the intended purpose of footprints was, but I use it as a geo bookmarking tool more or less. With the navigator it is great for marking a place you like by just taking a picture of it. It will fill in the address from the GPS info. You can make written or voice notes about a place too. Great app that I think more people should give a try.

Weather, Youtube, Calculator, Calendar, Camera, Facebook, Gmail, Maps, Navigator, People, Phone, Photos, Google Voice Search.

I never use:

peep, amazon, visual vm.

I will have to give footprint a try, never really understood what to do with it?

If you don't use the stock mail app which one do you use OTD? I haven't been able to find a better one.

I'd also like to find a better photo viewer/albums app than the stock one but haven't been able to.

the oem browser - up until 2.1v3 i was using dolphin, but am now looking for something better, because the stock one is just annoying to me with the tiny text being what it first loads

i use everything in the manner it was designed for. the internet is for porn. youtube is for porn. photo galleries are for porn. sms is to get more porn. maps/nav is to find stores that sell porn. the calendar tells me when to get more, the camera records it, and the market...keeps me amused when i cant get any more

I use facebook, twitter, and gmail. I do use Amazon mp3 cause sometimes it does have cheaper songs than itunes. Other than that, everything is off the market. I use handcent for messaging, advance taskiller ect..... I don't really like the stock browser to slow. I am not rooted so I can't take off all the other crap that's on there

Quick Office - Occasionally I have had to open a document outside of the workplace and this has come in handy.

Stock Mail app. I have used TouchDown to forward my Exchange email to my Eris for some time. But, with the leak of 2.1 v3, the stock mail app now supports the security policies we have set. The only downfall to the stock mail app is that it really bogs the phone down. I really liked the fact that it showed my appointments in the stock HTC calendar though.

None. They are all very cut and dry as to what they are intended to do.

If you don't use the stock mail app which one do you use OTD? I haven't been able to find a better one.

I just use gmail. All of my personal accounts are gmail and my business stuff is forwarded to a gmail account.

Quick office, but that is only because I can not get the paid version of Docs 2 Go yet with the 2.1 leak

No Applications, but my phone has changed my entire attitude toward Google and "cloud" computing. I have been a PDA/Smartphone user for over 10 years and I drank hard from the M$ Kool-Aid jug and now, I see that IMHO Google just makes things easier and works better. And I now use my phone more to access more of my personal and business information than I had ever had before.

I use Music (since there doesn't seem to be anything on Android Market that I prefer), People and Phone (for obvious reasons), Gmail, Talk, Market (for more obvious reasons), Weather, Clock, Calendar, Desk Clock, Camera, Internet (since Opera doesn't load some sites accordingly), Messages and Maps.

Never used Footprints, Mail (since everything goes to my Gmail account outside of spam).

People since I've made all my contacts Google contacts. Makes it so much easier since I don't need to transfer anything over. Just sign in to my Google account.
