Help Current User Headaches.

So I've had my Nexus since Jan and for the most part I don't have any issues with anything I love the phone.

Lately.. it has been.. too quirky though. The two main reasons to even have a phone keep force closing and I don't understand why. Its so random. So the two apps I speak of are the phone and messaging.

For the phone. People will call and go directly to VM, I will never even see the call. They get messages like the subscriber has terminated service.. the number has been disconnected.... to a bunch or random stuff.. for this I blame T-mobile. But it only happens to certain ppl who call, and no they aren't set on go to VM... The other issues with the phone app is:
1) it rings and rings and even after I choose to answer, it continues to ring and ring.
2) it freezes and asks me to force close as the call is ringing, usually after he 2nd/3rd ring.
3) i hear the ring tone.. can't see who is calling and cannot even select to ignore or answer.
4)when trying to place a call. it just sits and sits. and then force closes without making the call. (3g droppage?)

is this a support issue? too many apps? user error? I'm at a loss.

now messaging. This app has now asked me to force close daily for the past five days. and in the middle of day.. no exact time. It just purges all my messages. Even locked ones. Again.. software? apps? my settings? And then there is when trying to send. I can send 30 messages. and one.. just one of them doesn't send. I copy.. paste resend. still no. I reply to other ppl and no problem goes instantly. I go back to the "faulty" message.. and still. sticks. So either I have to turn off the phone... or sometimes.. but not always.. I can just retype a different message and it works. There are just too many random things about it.

I enjoy my phone tons it normally does what it is suppose to so I just want to figure out what tweak is needed here to go back to enjoy my PHONE.. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

OH and.. one other issue which is more funny than broken. The Google maps has been suggesting soooo many U-turns when navigating its nuts. Its gone so far to say. make a left.. then another left.. and hey.. one more left.. followed but a right hand turn instead of re-routing and finding an alternate path when i pass a turn. Luckily I'm more testing it out then relying on it.. but still would be nice if it worked properly.

Whoa man...that's rough! I hope my N1 will never experience that. First, have you downloaded an app that requires permission to 1) make phone calls and 2) send SMS? Not sure, but it might have been a rouge app that's affecting your call/sms app. If not, have you tried a battery pull and/or a factory reset? If you do a factory reset and you're still experiencing the call/sms issues, then you'd need to call HTC support.

Did the whole factory reset and carefully installed "trusted" apps one by one haven't done many to begin with though mostly just google and t-mobile ones. And still have issues with mms/sms.. i almost wonder.. if I shouldn't sync.. or unsync facebook and see if things work better..

Question, did you have the issue after you did the factory reset but before you install all of your 3rd party apps? If you had the issue after the reset...then it could be a stock app...which unless you root, you have no control over.

I had the issue prior to the reset. Which is what prompted me to try it. I was hoping maybe there was an app I had on there that was requiring something that was blocking my other apps from working properly... so far.. no dice. I have removed everything important off phone so now its just test and retest until tech support says.. here is a new phone.. (not likely) but we will see.

If you tell HTC what you have done to troubleshoot the problem, it shouldn't be a problem. They should replace it. I had an N1 replaced for screen issues no problem. I just told them what I had done, and they agreed that it was a bad unit. Had my new one in 2 days.
