Hello Everyone,

1st post btw :) Excellent forums with lots of strong advice.

If anyone is having loads of issues with upgrading their phone to a Desire with 3 UK then I recommend phoning Carphone Warehoue. I just upgraded my current K850i to Desire via the upgrade team at Carphone Warehouse. Phone is arriving tomorrow. Cant wait.

Desire availability directly from 3 is a total washout the last person I spoke to said that they wont have any unitl the end of May!!!

Happy Upgrading.

3 now have a blog where a lot of customers have shared the packages they've been offered as well as their (mostly negative) experiences with the infamous 3 customer services. However, most of the upgrade deals mentioned were on the previous price plans before this weeks overhaul.

Update: HTC Desire pricing Welcome to the 3 Blog

There are also a few more blogs related to the Desire (just search for it). Good luck in dealing with 3. It's worse than trying to extract blood from a stone.

My problem with 3 was that they initially seemed to pick deals out of a hat and loyalty discounts were non-existant. After requesting my PAC I got a great offer.

It looks like all the new 3 deals tie you in for 24 months. On the plus side, if you have your internet as an add-on it looks like the fair usage will be going from 1gb to 2gb. Not quite on the same level as it's competitors but still an improvement.

Yeah, tell me about it. After being with them for over three years I bought out the rest of my contract and moved to Orange a couple of weeks ago.

All they would say to me was that I might be entitled to a Desire when they came back in stock but they couldn't quite pinpoint when the handset would be back in stock either.

After being a loyal customer for so long being told that I might be entitled to upgrade to the Desire just wasn't good enough.

Initially I was told 3 had stopped doing the Desire. Then that it was only for special high use customers. Usually the threat of leaving having been offered a better a deal gets the ball rolling faster. I think I spoke to 4 different people before finally negotiating my deal. Might have been a while on the phone but worth it in the end.

No matter who you go with play hard to get, play the companies off each other. My friend ordered his Desire on Orange from dialaphone, but they mixed up his dispatch so he phoned them threatening just to leave it, he would go elsewhere and they gave him another

Believe me I tried. About an hour a day on the phone for about 5 days in a row with different people everytime. All of whom gave me different information, one guy offered me a deal on any phone I wanted there and then, just that the Desire wasn't one of them! He even went as far as to say the Desire wasn't as good as I thought it was anyway.
