I've been waiting for this app forever. I just got the email from LogMeIn saying it was available for download for a limited time. So I went to the Marketplace. Sure enough it's there. The email said it's a limited offering so once the limit has been downloaded they're taking it down.

I suggest everyone who wants to try it get over to the Android Marketplace and download it pronto!

I've been using it for about 20 minutes and it's pretty sweet so far.

I've been using PhoneMyPC since last November and like it quite a bit. But I'd say so far now that I've gotten a little used to this, it's much better. A lot more powerful, the screen quality is way better, I have the whole list of all the PC's I have on my LogMeIn account, plus it's only going to get better from here. I'm sold.

I also like that I can now lock my PC at work again. With PhoneMyPC I couldn't get into it unless I left if signed in. That alone makes it more secure in my book. I also like that it gives me the option to lock the keyboard and/or blank the screen when I'm logged in. Pretty cool.

So far I'm liking it, although I did have one FC with HelixLauncher1, and then some sort of a memory problem (apparently with the phone... I don't quite understand the error message I saw).

The weird thing is that now when I log into my work computer (an iMac running 1344x840 display), it changes the display to 800x600, so all the desktop icons are overlapping. I'm guessing it was the 1344 display causing some sort of memory problem in the Moto Droid. The second I log out, the iMac screen returns to normal.

I tried both. I tend to leave my computer unlocked, and I'm not paranoid, so none of that matters to me.

What does matter to me is ease of use and speed.

Switching between them, it's obvious that phonemypc is waaaayyyyy faster and has much better frames per second than logmein.

Neither provide viable methods (in practice not tooltips) for dragging and scrolling windows. Neither provide sound output. This is stuff that most casual users of remote programs are going to be interested in.

But for clicking on things and navigating the windows interface, phonemypc is again snappier and much more responsive than logmein.

I'm a big fan of Logmein. It can run as a background service, transparent to the end user. Until remote user logs in.

You can lock the computer from the desktop, or reboot your PC and leave the PC at the login prompt, and then login via Logmein remotely.

Hope these features are available on the Android version.
