syncing itunes library with DI

After using doubletwist to sync my library, now i just drag and drop(copy and paste) files from the itunes media folder to my music library. Its just easier to do it this way so it doesn't mess with my album art. I usually only add 1 or 2 songs at a time. Doubletwist was also screwing with the folders once i updated my eris to 2.1, it was fine when i was running 1.5 but once i upgraded to os 2.1 it really fragmented all my music into seperate folders and i had to spend about 30 minutes putting things back where they belong. Not sure if it was fixed or not but now i just copy and paste them where they need to go. Seems to work fine for me.

I use a folder named Music, because thats what doubletwist created when i synced it the first time. I never bothered to change it. Not to mention i don't actually have ANY mp3 files, they are m4a.

Ahh, should've thought of that, too. I run all MP3s, so that's from my experience.

There was another thread that mentioned that if it was in a folder called music, that was the root of the album art issues. Ever since I renamed it to mp3, all album art shows up without fail, whereas before it would not consistently. I didn't do any retagging or anything. It started displaying all embedded album art after the rename.

I stand corrected. I thought I saw it as free, but it is .99. My bad...

iTunesSync, however, is free.

Doubletwist is an app for the phone, and iTunesSync is a Windows program.

it's a shame it isn't free, sounds like a useful app but I'll just stick to taking the sd card out of my phone and putting it into the computer and dragging the songs over to it.

Can't you leave it in the phone and when you hook it up to the computer mount it as a drive? That would save from taking it out of the phone.

That was gonna be my next question, I have hooked the Inc to the computer via the usb cable but it just never showed up on mycomputer as a drive. It installed and everything too which is weird. Sorry for jackin' the thread. Any suggestions?

Mine does by design. When I hook up the USB cable, a screen pops up and asks what I want to do (just charge, use as a disk drive, etc).

Got to Settings->Connect to PC and there are 4 choices. Have the 'Ask Me' checked and that should come up. If the third choice states 'Mount SD Card, your card isn't mounted for whatever reason.

When you plug the phone in, it will ask you what you want to do, and choose Disk drive, and then hit 'Done' at the bottom, and your PC should show it as a removeable drive.

I forgot I also use an app called AutoMount (from the Market) that automatically mounts the SD card for you so you don't have to do it manually. I believe that's why your drive is not showing up in Windows when you connect. You'd have to manully mount it each time you plug in your phone.

From the Auto Mount page...

"Quit manually mounting your SD card every time you plug your phone into your computer. Download AutoMount to auto-mount your SD card."

I put my videos/movies in a folder named 'videos' on the root of the SD
