Is anyone else having battery issues??? I come from using a storm, so I know these touch screens eat up the battery, but I'm lucky if I get 6 hours out of mine. I knew it would be bad in the begininng because it was a new toy for me, but it's not getting any better. Is there any config I could try to help extend the life of my battery? I've already set it to battery saver mode without seeing any improvement... Anyone haveany other suggetions???

During the daytime I always keep the screen brightness on the lowest setting possible (turning it up just barely if I can't see too well), and I also turn off WiFi when I'm not using it. A lot of the Motoblur's social networking widgets that involve automatic updates throughout the day tend to eat up battery power as well,. perhaps you can cut down to just the ones you use.

I just got my Cliq XT a week ago and I use it heavily. It lasts me the whole day and it's usually around 25% or so by the time I charge it up at night.

Thanks... I'm going to try not using the social widgets and see how that helps.... makes sense. Recently I've had another problem pop up. For a lack of better description, my network keeps resetting randomly. I'll be in the middle of typing an email, or IM, or texting and my network goes offline with a no sig symbol then right back on. Frustrating part is that the phone flickers and returns to home screen deleting whatever I'm working on. Also it will clear anything in my notification bar. Doesn't always happen when typing but that's when it frustrates the most. Come across anything like this yet?

I have noticed that the Cliq opens a lot of programs in the background. I use a task killer, and that keeps my battery pretty healthy all day.

I came from the G1 so I'm used to fighting for every minute of battery life. I don't run Motoblur (I realize that's the whole selling feature of this phone, but I just wanted a non-slider Android), I keep GPS/Wifi off, no Bluetooth, screen at lowest brightness setting (which seems tons brighter than the G1). Despite the hotly raging debate over whether we need a Task Killer or not, I'm running Advanced Task Cleaner 2.0 from the Market (Bright Wallace) and have pushed the phone to nearly 2 days before charging.

As for the network resetting, sorry, can't help you much there. : (

I downloaded the advanced task killer, its free. It helps out soooo much I have a lot of apps and I play on my phone all day long and this helps me out with my battery life. I have it set to kill my apps every half or on the hour i find is the best. And I keep task killer and my hancent sms app on the ignore list. Its a great app, saves my battery so i can play all day!
