Just popping in to say Hi! I have been searching for that perfect combination of usability and customization, seems like I have finally found it on the Android platform. I am a network engineer specializing in Cisco, so I am pretty technical and started to find that the iPhone was just too closed for me.
Previous to 2009 I had used various RIM Blackberry devices for years, as they were always what was supplied to me by my employer. Early last year the cellphone policy was changed at my company (i.e. we are now required to have a smartphone but the company only pays up to a certain amount each month) so I broke away from my BB and purchased an iPhone. Now just over a year later I found myself chafing at the restrictions imposed by Apple on their wonderphone product and decided it was time for another change.
After much research I decided on a pair of Droid Incredibles (1 for me, 1 for my wife) running on a VZW family plan, just got the phones on Friday, had my number ported over yesterday from ATT and have spent practically every waking minute for the past 2 days learning the ins and outs.
So anyway, hello to all, this has already been a very rewarding experience, the site is great and I look forward to being part of the community!
