Help Stock Android 2.1 Keyboard?

Is there anyway of getting this keyboard on my incredible? I'm use to it coming from a moto droid. I was much more accurate with it I make all kinds of typos with the sense keyboard.

+1. I'm surprised to say that I agree. I found the Droid's keyboard to be more accurate. However, it could also be the screen. I've had a hiccup or two from the screen when selecting "reply" etc in gmail.

I came from the iPhone and have had a problem typing on this phone since I got it. Specifically as it pertains to the space bar. I was continuously hitting the period instead of the space bar because it is so small and my hands are larger than average. Yesterday I downloaded Smart Keyboard Pro and man has it helped. It gives you the option of different skins (including iPhone and Android-- which may be what you are looking for). I am very happy now, however I feel like the autocorrect from the Smart Keyboard Pro is not as effective.

+1 on that. Also i downloaded the smart keyboard demo seems a little better then sense but im using it right now to type this and its lagging really bad didnt have any problems with lag with the sense keyboard

Have you tried Swiftkey? It's probably my favorite aftermarket keyboard after trying all of them. It has incredible predictive abilities but the layout itself could use a little more work, probably my second go to keyboard after the stock HTC.

Link to the .apk?

Sorry. I don't have one. I tried installing the LATIN_IME from a Cyanogenmod rom but it would not install. You can try recalibrating the included keyboard to see if that helps with your input. From home screen, hit menu>setting>language & keyboard>touch input>text input.... scroll down to Calibration Tool. I have seen a few themed htc-ime keyboards like the one the phone comes with but they are just modded for color (black,Black & Red).

All of the ones I've seen require rooting.

Recalibrating the HTC keyboard or skinning it doesnt really make it anything similar to the Android 2.1 stock keyboard. I'm not sure if you've ever seen it.
