Facebook sync w/ contacts gone!

anyone experience this within the last hour or so? I noticed that i had to sign back into my account on "Social Networking" in settings, but nothing is syncing back up. they are all still sync'd (if you go into a contact on the computer, there is a "note" in the "notes" section showing the link), but nothing is showing up. I'm guessing eventually it will download everything again and I just need to give it time, and I'm also sure it's a Facebook issue thing, since they just updated and tweaked their UI, but i was curious if anyone else noticed this.

For some reason that I have yet to figure out, I drop out of FB often and find myself having to relog into it the same way you do.

There have been a few times where the FB images and updates seemed to take an unusually long time to get back. They did sync back properly, so just give it time.

go into settings and make sure you're logged into Facebook still there. It's under social networks.

Mine lost connectivity with FB as well. Had to reestablish it. And I swear contact photos that I had at one point disappear from my screen.

We could use Android 2.0 badly on this device. It is so buggy....

I've been getting the same thing recently. I wonder if the facebook upgrades over the weekend broke some of the connectivity. It definitely appears that if the phone isn't connected to facebook via it's social network preferences, then you don't get any of the contact pictures from facebook.

As the phone clearly must have downloaded those pictures, it would be nice if it had cached them as well.

If anyone figures out why the phone seems to not really want to talk to facebook any more, that would be appreciated.

I just had the issue once, and it has been fine since. The contact pictures came back, it just took a while for all the information to DL.

I have a feeling the revamping of the Facebook page had something to do with it.

As of this morning I was able to connect again to facebook, and all was fine again. The contact list is storing the fb link information in your google contact list, so as soon as you get a facebook link, they come back.

If any HTC folks are listening, a nice addition in a future build would be to *not remove* the images when the link goes down, but stick with the cached copies. Watching all your friends faces disappear is a jarring experience, even if it is temporary.
