Is there any way to select which picture will show as the photo album thumbnail? When I open the photo album the picture that shows as the thumbnail is hard to see and I would like to have another pic as the album thumbnail/icon.

I have tried erasing all of the photos, clearing the cache and reloading the photos in various orders but no matter what I try the same photo shows as the thumbnail. Is there any way to change it?

Yes I have. I deleted the DCIM folder from the SD card, deleted the pics from the SD card, cleared the cache, restarted the phone and then reloaded the pics ... in that order. I even put one pic on, the one I wanted to show as the thumbnail, opened the album and viewed the pic hoping it would make a difference. When I loaded the rest of the pics the thumbnail changed back to the one it had been before.

I'm thinking it has to do with the internal memory and not the SD card, but I don't know.

Well, I'd like to say that worked, but unfortunately it didn't.

dang! worked for me, maybe reboot the phone or something and then see. are you on 2.1? maybe that has something to do with it if you are, im on 1.5 and it worked perfect for me.

my girlfriend was home when my phone arrived and she took some nakey pics for me as a "pick me up". then after some time she didnt like the fact that it was the default thumbnail but me being a guy i kept the pics, i just went and changed the name and voila, no more boobie pic as default.

I ended up "recreating" the few pics I had on the phone. I saw that it wanted to use the oldest pic as the thumbnail, although it originally didn't and I can't explain why it changed. I copied each pic, pasted it into MS Paint and resaved it. I made sure I did the one I wanted as the thumbnail first and it worked.

I used a file management app to view the details of the pics on the phone and I saw that it used the oldest pic as the thumbnail. When I "recreated" all the pics I did the one I wanted to be the thumbnail first and made it show as the oldest pic.

Order is determined by the order in which the pics are taken or their "date created" as it shows in the details.

By the way, I just got the 2.1 update a couple of days ago and nothing changed with my photo or video album.

im having the same problem, only i cant find the pic on the card to rename.. when i got the phone (eris 2.1), either someone had it before me and a picture was left on there, or when the verizon tech transferred my pics and contacts to my new phone, someone elses pictures might have been left on their machine.... Ugggg im at a loss as to how to get that pic off my phone.. what makes matters worse, is that picture is a thumbnail in my albums... I would appreciate any feedback.. i've tried renaming one that i wanted imag0001 but it did not work.....
