What setting do you use on your camera?

I'm sure that those of you that use your eris as your camera probably have it set to the highest settings.

However, I use my eris camera mainly to goof around and send pictures to friends and family (mainly my young nephew)
So i like to be able to take a quick picture and video and be able to send it without problems. But usually, even after the picture is automatically resized, it's still too large to send via MMS.
Videos are worse.

What setting can I use so that I wont have these problems but still take decent pictures and videos.

I know there is the resolution setting. But there is also a quality setting where I can change from high, to fine or normal.

Which is the best to change?

I have my resolution set for the highest 5M and you can set the quality. Mine is set for High. Just open your camera > menu > settings > quality (either high, fine, normal or basic). I have never had any problem sending videos or photos by gmail or mms.

Really? No problems sending at highest settings? Now I'm starting to think i have issues on my phone.
I dont have issues with Gmail... just MMS.

I'll wait for others to chime in before try to figure out what's wrong with eris

what messaging program do you use? I use ChompsSMS. It usually tells me that the pic is being automatically resized but it goes thru ok. I've not had problems posting to FB either. There is a known problem sending pics from Android to the iPhone though. There are threads about it.

My settings depend on what I am taking the picture for. If I am filing a Service Claim for a customer, it's set to just above minimum so I cam e-mail them. Pictures for forum posting, I general use 3M - Decent size and quality, without killing bandwidth.

On the rare occasion I think the pic will be a keeper, I crank it

The pro-zoom camera I find takes much clearer pictures then the stock camera and has no problems sending them through messages. It's a great camera app.

I would use center area since in my opinion it would perform the best for most situations. The only time you might want to change to spot metering is something like: you are indoors, subject is in front of window and it's sunny outside. The subject will appear dark because the brightness of the window area is overpowering and will mess up the exposure.

Average is somewhat like center area, but uses the metering values from the whole frame. Center area will take more consideration around the [] area which is usually your focal point, and will produce better results for most situations.
