AAC convertion

Hi, I'm been using I-pod and I-tunes quite a while

since i've bought my hero, i want to use it as my sole media player.

However, all my music is AAC, and almost a thousand files are protected ones, does anybody know if there will be a significant loss of quality if those files are converted to mp3?

Sorry I dont have a answer that i have done myself....

But I would think you would have converted some and listen to them and judge for yourself .... we are our best source of what is acceptable to us ... not someone else's opinion

I would think you are going to lose quality going from aac to mp3. You *could* upgrade them to non-DRM aac but I believe that is around 30 cents a track. I guess it depends how anal you want to be on quality! If you really want the best quality, then upgrade them to 256K non-DRM aac in iTunes. Is it even possible to convert a DRM aac file to mp3?
