I'm interested in getting something like this for my nightstand to use as my alarm clock. But I'm guessing you still have to plug in the micro USB cable as there is no contacts on the bottom of the phone. This is the only flaw I can see with this phone. It would have made more sense to me to have the input at the bottom for reasons such as this.

+1 on the port location. I will say that I had a Moto Q awhile back and it had the charge port in the same location and they made a slide in cradle that worked really well for a desktop charger. You slid the phone in from the right side as you are looking at it and it had a fixed Mini USB on the left side (same side as the Incredible's Micro). The Pro Clip car charger/Holder I purchased still required inserting the power cord after sliding the phone into the holder.

One feature I loved about my old BB 9000 was the contacts on the bottom that required me to just plop the phoen on the charger and not have to plug anything in. The storm 2 cradles had usb jacks built in that were punched out so they slipped in and out easier. Hopefully they do the same for the incredible soon, as well as make some room for the cases that they sell.

Doesn't seem to have a headphone out, imagine connecting 3.5mm over the dock....it'd look ugly...I'm looking for a dock with 3.5mm slot so that I don't have to connect the jack every time I put it for charging/listening to music. Since it is has a ExtUsb slot I'd expect the dock to have a headphone jack.

Looks interesting, but if you have to plug in a cord directly to the phone, then I don't get how this is a "charging cradle"

I'm waiting on the one shown in verizon launch package pdf - VZW6300DTC

Sits in the cradle in landscape and for sure had built in charging.

Although the second battery charging on this one is a neat idea.

Why would you want it to sit in landscape mode when all of the homescreens are portrait only?

That looks really nice. But would prefer a charging cradle where I don't have to run a wire directly to the phone. I wonder if Verizon's will have that?

All these cradles & stuff are great, but wouldn't you have to remove your case/cover just to use them? That seems to be an issue, for me anyways...

Helix runs in Landscape. The funny thing about the music player is if it's in icon mode it rotates in landscape but if you have it in full screen it stays in portrait. Pandora works in both modes. Also I find it strange that in Bluetooth Audio mode, Pandora is the default player. Sometimes I have to shut it down to keep it from bleeding over the media player when using Ford Sync. If you have the media player running and hit a steering wheel button it launches Pandora over top of Media Player. Weird.

Agreed Its hard to tell from that pic. But I'd almost bet you have to "manually" insert the cord before sitting it in the cradle...

Just about everything runs in landscape, except the launcher which I'm guessing HTC has been too lazy to do since they would have to make their widgets rotate.

They will not even let you buy this right now. The reason is, this is not the charger they will be selling. This is the charger they sold for the HTC Imagio. Since they do not have a charger yet I guess they thought it would be OK to put the Imagio chargers picture up. If and when they do get a desktop charger I am sure you will see a new picture.

I think it was stupid on the part of HTC that the clock app and homescreen stuff only works in portrait mode, yet the only way to make a drop in charger for this with the Micro USB on the side is in landscape mode.

Like I said a few post above, Motorolla made a slide in dock for Portrait for the Moto Q. I had one and it worked really well. I'm sure HTC or someone could make one for the Incredible as well. I'll try to find a pic.

With the power connector on the side, you would have to be very creative to make a drop in cradle in portrait orientation. The only practical way to make a drop in charging cradle for the inc with the power connector on the side is in the landscape orientation.

that has to wrong? my charging contacts are on the left side, nothing at the bottom. there's going to be a lot of disappointed people when they order that unless i am missing something?

I loved the portrait Moto DROID dock and I am sure that is the intent for the Incredible as well. The Moto uses magnets to automatically put the device in "dock" mode though... not sure what hTC has cooking??
