Porting EVO's WiFi tether?

I know its not out yet.....but assuming some potential EVO folks are trolling this thread....

Would love...love to see if they can extract the WiFi tethering app from it so we can TRY to install it on our Incredibles.

Theoretically we wouldn't need root. AND it's been reported that the WiFi tether for it will support both WEP AND WPA (yea WPA....hell...I'm not a hacker and I can crack WEP!!!)

It really is one of the few things I want to root for.

Still would need to root. The WiFi mode is locked. An app can try, but will fail, to change it's mode. Root access = ability to change wifi mode.. Sorry to burst your bubble

Damn....I'd still want theirs over the others. Because of the WPA support

I'm sure we can do this once it's released. Put a post about this over at XDA HTC Droid Incredible - xda-developers once root is acheived and someone will work on it.
