Stock vs skyfire vs dolphin hd vs opera etc.

Just wanted to know which browser you guys are using and why? You know what features you like about the one you use? I've gone from stock to original Dolphin to opera to skyfire back now to dolphin hd but I like a little bit from all of them. Maybe there is something I didnt know from one the you guys use.

I always use the stock browser on any mobile device.

It's probably just paranoia but there are confirmed worms/viruses out there that can infect mobile operating systems like iphone os, android, etc. As more people get smartphones I could guarantee the amount of these viruses go up in the future.

I would much rather have the stock browser with its built in google security systems versus a browser from a developer that I dont know what they have done to secure my device...

(again... probably just paranoia)

I use Skyfire as my default but have been playing with Dolphin HD. Before Skyfire and DolphinHD I used regular Dolphin and then switched to xScope for what I perceived to be a faster experience.

The reason I use Skyfire is it's as fast as any of them but also has the potential to play Flash content if it happens to be where I'm surfing.

I use stock.

I like SkyFire on WM, but on Android it uses a TON of memory for it's cache. I got rid of it because of this.

I haven not used Dolphin in a while, but I didn't see anything that would make me want to trade off to something other than Stock.
I agree on the memory issue and Skyfire. I'm always in the manage apps setting emptying the cache

I have skyfire as my current default, but want to change it back to stock. Stock is more stable. The sharing options that I was very excited about (like emailing a link to yourself or somebody else) comes with a price: whatever email address you give it, it will get spammed. Not cool.

I'll keep skyfire for flash, but other than that stock is still the best.

Use opera if I really need to use the web fast and only have an edge connection. Opera is faaaaaaaaast.

BTW, sort of OT, but:

Anyone know how to change one's default browser? I can't find it anywhere in the application settings menu of either the browsers or the OS itself.

Settings|applications|Manage Apps|[Your current default browser]|Clear defaults

except...now that I look on mine, browser doesn't seem to be listed under 'Manage apps'...not sure why...???

I like Mobile Firefox but probably won't use it as my main browser until it's further along in development. It sometimes feels slow compared to the stock browser and doesn't have pinch-to-zoom. It is in alpha so I'm hopeful that those will be fixed in a later version. Until then I use the stock browser or I use the opera mini browser whenever I need to download something that the stock browser won't allow for some reason. I'd probably use the Opera browser all the time if it had pinch-to-zoom.

Stock. Love the bookmark thumbnails.

Dophin HD is great but something about Dolphin always feels cluttered.
The "flick" option doesnt work properly with address bar..instead of waiting to be "flicked" down it auto appears whenever I scroll up. MAJOR annoyance.
The update removed YT video dowloading so stock still wins.

Opera is great for speed and reading.

When you're in Manage Applications, make sure you hit the Menu button and change the Filter from "Downloaded" to "All". It's on "Downloaded" by default if you've never changed it. Browser should show up then.
