Has anyone with the 2.1 leak got the official update

Ok this is my first post and I dont know to much so please don't treat me to bad

Has anyone with the 2.1 leak gotten the official update yet? I did an update I saw on youtube last week and its ok, but my phone is a little bugy. I really want to make sure that I can get the official one and maybe stop some of the problems.

Yes. People with the leak have reported getting the OTA here.
I saw 2 with v2 get it. Not sure if any with v3 have yet.

You will receive a notification. Past OTAs have appeared as a big box right on the screen prompting you to update rather than just a small icon up in the notification bar. It is unmissable.

Thank you! So I just rooted a version of 2.1 recently...very recently...dumb decision I guess...or will I be able to get the OTA still. I have heard varying comments on this!!

There are a couple of roms that don't block the OTA, but most do.

And you don't like your rooted phone?? It really depends on the ROM you installed as to whether or not the updates are disabled. But if you don't get the update and want to lose root then you can always install it manually when the download is made available. Also if your rooted chances are your ROM is based off of the v3 leak which as far as I can tell is very similar or the same as the OTA.

i was contemplating going back to 2.1v1 or v2 just to see if the OTA would show up right after. It's a silly thought...just anxious I suppose.

tried going back to 2.1v2 from 2.1v3 and it said not possible. gave option to reboot only.

Rooted means you have complete access to the phone, like an administrator. Leak is exactly that, a leaked version of 2.1.

Chances are you're not rooted if you're asking that question, not flaming you. If you go to menu > settings > About Phone > Software information you will see the Build number. Post the build number and I can tell you what version you are running.

OH MY!! I haven't seen this many newbie's here in a while.

Root vs. NonRoot;
If you root your phone you have unlimted access to the OS. Like an administrator account on a windows PC. The about phone tab would be able to tell you. Menu>Settings>About Phone>Software information.

If you have installed a leaked version there is no going back. You are stuck with what you have because the build numbers are higher than the previous.

Remember (I think I said this before) This is a proccess to get the OTA, it's a 14 day time frame and we're only two days in, so sit back relax you won't be left out.

There is a v3 leaker reporting having received the OTA at Post Here If You Receive the Update - HTC Droid Eris Forum.

I did the new leak here! And my battery life is lacking again and the my phone is sluggish...do you suggest I go for v3 that I saw somewhere or will I get the opportunity to do the OTA?

It's really your choice on what to do. Some beleive that v3 is the OTA while others beleive it is not. The OTA will be made available to download and install in a couple of weeks.

Oh and you are not rooted if you installed from that location.

It'll just come to your phone as a notification area prompt.

So is the newest news that NO leakers are getting the OTA? Debating if I should go get the v3 or not..v2 is really buggy for me. SLOW...and battery drainage...

might as well go to v3, if were not gonna see the OTA on leak then no point to stay on v2.
